HASSELL BROS AUTO BODY & GLASS

After my new car was involved in an accident, I did a ton of research to find a place that will restore it to its original condition. I called many places and visited some to show the car and get some estimates, timeframes and more importantly see who will do the best work. I had a bad experience with a previous vehicle whereby the paint had ripples when the dent was pulled out instead of replacing the panel, so it was really important to me that I will not see any ripples. I selected after the most thorough possible research (BBB checks, asking around, calling and interviewing, etc) and since they've been around for 25+ years, I chose Hassell because of their approach to customer service - which is outstanding. The time Randy and his brother took to explain how they work, what they do and what I can expect exceeded my expectations. I wish I could say the same about the final work. Even though they kept me informed throughout the process, I made it explicit that I wanted to car restored to original condition and since new parts were being used (they fought to have new parts vs after markert that the insurance companies typically want to push on shops) I expected the car to be in perfect condition. To the layman, it would appear the car is perfect. But since I know what to look for, and they knew that before work was performed, I was disappointed to see ripples in the paint (again, not visible to the inexperienced eye) on one of the panels that was dented. Also, there was a screw missing from the inside of the front fender which tells me they may have rushed to get the job done. I told Randy that I see ripples and wanted to know if anything can be done about it and he said that's the best it can be. I felt a little misled since I was told there wouldn't be rippples and I will be totally satisfied with the work. I've been wanting to go back and see if there is anything more that can be done, but it has now been 3 months and I don't expect them to re-do the work, despite their website stating they strive for 100% total satisfaction. Having a new car get hit with five grand worth of damage really stinks and finding a body shop in a short time frame that will completely meet your expectations is a hard thing to find. I hope I never need to use a body shop again; if I need to I'm not entirely sure I would use Hassell Bros.
