Gateway finally gave us relief from this trying experience! First of all I researched several pest control companies and the least expensive ones quoted me around $1000, most of them for two treatments. Gateway quoted me half that for 3 treatments! They are a family owned company and this was reflected in their punctuality, professionalism, attentiveness and personal touch. The checklists and paperwork they sent me weren't as extensive as the others however Jay's (the owner) willingness to answer any question and thoroughly explain the process made up for that.
The main infestation was in our sons' room and despite thoroughly cleaning out everything, we couldn't get rid of the bugs! They asked us to remove the Murphy beds from the wall, and remove the molding from the beds. This was a big job, but we are so glad we did it! It turned out the bugs had burrowed their way into the unfinished edges of the wood and laid eggs! Had these professionals not been so thorough we would not have gotten rid of these bugs. They inspected our couch and since it wasn't badly infested they told us they would spray it and try to salvage it, which they did. Their thoroughness saved us having to throw out a lot of our furniture.
Finally, what meant so much to me is they treated us with empathy & dignity!
Do yourself a favor and don't try the do-it-yourself route like we did. It cost us close to $1500 (on countless types of bug spray, storage bags, bed covers, a new vacuum, etc) and months of torment & stress! If you suspect you have a bedbug problem, call Gateway ASAP. They will help you confirm the problem and treat it before it gets out of control!
