We finally hired a new contractor and architect and scaled back our project because of the money stolen from us by the first pair, including Akson Architects. Akeeb Shakoni actually had the nerve to try to collect the balance of our contracted amount, without having ever provided a single set of completed plans that were structurally sound.
Description of Work: In spite of repeated requests, the architect did not complete the requested plans in timely manner. He was working for the general contractor who continuously suggested that we begin the remodeling project without a completed set of plans. Unfortunately, this was unacceptable, as I have an engineer in my family who was reviewing the plans for structural integrity and found them to be lacking in several areas. We would return the plans to the architect with corrections and/or areas of concern, requesting that he address them and correct them. It would take over a month before he would even look at the plans we sent back. He would return them to us, claiming they were corrected, but when our engineer reviewed them again, they contained the same mistakes.
