Thompson Tree and Crane

My experience with Thompson was excellent. They were prompt, communicated with me better than any contractor I have had in the past, made very helpful suggestions, and handled changes to the scope of the project very well.

 One person came the same afternoon that we called to assess the job and three people came the next day to perform the work. They are highly skilled and professional.  They are really nice people and the cost was very reasonable.  We will definitely call them the next time we need tree work.   Excellent in every way.

Tree was removed promptly. We then heard nothing for months. Finally came and ground stump, without giving us any notice of when; job seems to have been well done. Still waiting to get a bill. Overall, the work was well done but communications with us could have been better.

We had several trees near our house that we wanted down to provide some more light. A family friend recommended Thompson's. They came right over and provided estimates, discussed the work and how it would be done. We scheduled the work and Thompson's was there when expected and did an amazing job bringing down the very tall trees in a very tight area.
I have since had them come back when we had a tree leaning toward out house after a big rain. They came immediately and took the tree down despite their busy schedule.
I highly recommend them.

Outstanding from beginning to end. They returned my message immediately, came out and gave an estimate for the first 4 trees, did the work soon after. Very professional all the way through including clean up afterward. I was so happy I then had them come back a month later to do another 4 trees and more clean up.

These guys were great. Very responsive and professional. They came the same day even though there were trees down all over the area from a bad storm. An old tall locust tree had split vertically, half fell in the road and the other half was still standing with two big limbs overhanging the roof of a 3-story house. Thompson's big crane unfolds to the height needed. There wasn't a lot of room to maneuver between the house, road, outbuildings and other trees, but they cut the tree in about five pieces and dropped each one perfectly. We elected to do the cleanup ourselves to reduce cost, so they were done within 2 hours.

very well. he called me in the morning and said he could do it that day. he came right over and cut down and chipped the trees. cleaned up all the debris and there was nothing left for me to worry about. they were very courteous as well. nice to work with and they were local! I like being able to hire local people to do work on and around my house.

Managed to remove a great deal of rotting wood.
Con:
Some delays in providing proof of insurance.
Thought some of the trimming could have been more extensive and less choppy.
I'd use them again, maybe without even getting other estimates.

Both gentlemen met us on site to review the project; difficult large tree removals in a less than ideal setting. They provided an accurate, fair estimate for the scope of work. They showed up when promised and completed their efforts within their anticipated time-frame. They have an impressive array of clean, new equipment and they work proficiently and safely. They left our lot clean and tidy and we truly enjoyed their can-do, desire to please attitude. We will definitely use them again and recommend them highly without hesitation!

It went very well. I did not check around for alternative prices, so I can not speak to price. But I was happy with the quality and timeliness of the work.

Peter and his team were a pleasure to work with. From the initial email correspondence, on-site quote to the actual job. The team was punctual (to the minute), work was done on time and on budget. Thompson Tree and Crane are true professionals, and will be my go-to tree care service from now on.

The two person operation completed the job in less than a day, a job I was sure would take at least two days. The free estimate was the lowest in the area, in some cases, by a considerable amount.

Morgan has a unique, yet very safe, style of operation. It allows him to do the job it would take two, three, or more to do. That, combined with excellent and very well maintained equipment I believe lets him operate at a lower cost, thus being the best price I could find.

The low price defiantly does not sacrifice quality, safety and professionalism. It was not a small job, the mess was cleaned up as it happened. Overall it was fascinating to watch, and I was surprised with how happy I was with the result.

Morgan and his partner are also very likable people.

The owner came out for a free estimate which was comparable to other estimates that I got. He is very knowledgeable about the problems I was having and described what he would do in detail. He arrived early for the job, was very professional and took care of some additional items that were not part of the original scope of work.

He was fantastic. I called him and he let me know he couldn't get to me for 10 days but he said I will be there in 10 days at 3:30 and he showed up exactly on time. He brought it very expensive equipment and had it all taken care of in about a half an hour. I would recommend him to anyone.

The work was done very quickly. The branch had fallen across the bushes along the sidewalk and into our large driveway in front of the garage. Morgan trimmed all the smaller branches on the way to the large parts and fed them into his huge chipper -- the chips all blown into the back of his covered truck. Finally, he went along the large trunk and cut it into firewood lengths, which could then be moved easily to the side and stacked. Everything was done without damaging any of the landscaping. He even trimmed up the old lilac where some of its branches had been broken by the event. Afterward, Morgan cleaned the driveway with a blower and broom so you couldn't tell anything had happened. We've known Morgan for years and had him take down some big trees between our house and the neighbor's. Those were tricky city trees that need careful coaxing so nothing falls on a house or other vulnerable place. His work was superb and a pleasure to watch. His rates are moderate for the highest quality service.
