Asphalt Driveway Service
Pete was great to work with - we needed a piece of our driveway filled with stone because of several large potholes. He returned my call in minutes, and came over the same day to look at the driveway and provide an estimate. When we decided to move ahead with the repair he had the job done on the first day that it could be performed. He was quick and efficient, and followed up after a few days. Great experience!

Snow Removal
Pete and his team did a totally outstanding job. We have a lakeside house in Ithaca with a very long, steep, and winding driveway. The driveway came out beautifully! Pete is very honest and straightforward, tells you exactly what he’s going to do, what the difficulties might be, and how he’s going to approach the job. And pretty much that was exactly how it all went. Would highly recommend!!!

Pete was awesome. He came over and measured my old nasty gravel driveway. He told me exactly what he would do and how much it would cost. He was honest and straightforward. Pete even took the time to give me great advice about relocating the driveway for the ease of a future project. I cannot say enough good things about his company. When my mom passed in September and I had to go out of town he came over and worked hard to complete the work in my absence. The work was beautiful and he sent me photos. If you want someone straightforward and honest hire Pete!

Our driveway is about 300 feet long with curves, on a slope with a fair amount of water seepage, and after only 10 years the edges were starting to crumble. Another company wanted to completely rip up the existing asphalt and lay down a new base and asphalt, at great expense. Pete felt most of the driveway was fine but needed to have the cracks filled in, the surface sealed, and he had the brilliant idea of packing crushed stone gravel along the edges to shore up the sides of the driveway. This gravel contains large and fine stones and lyme, which hardens like cement after exposure to rain. The project was delayed multiple times by terrible weather conditions, but Pete guaranteed he would finish the job, and he did. His prices were reasonable and he saved us a lot of money while rescuing our driveway for another 10 years. He and his crew were very pleasant to work with, stayed in contact and kept us updated on when they would do each of the steps. We will have him check the driveway each year in the future and keep us on top of crack and surface sealing.

Pete and several workers came 2 days prior to the repaving to prepare the expanded turn around site (remove roots from old tree stump, excavate area, fill with gravel) and do the cut-outs at the garage and road. Today, 10 workers, several trucks, a roller, and a paving machine arrived as scheduled. They completed the job in several hours.
They did an excellent job. It looks great and I believe it will hold up well. The agreement was for "2+/- inches" of asphalt. As Pete had implied in earlier discussions, he likes to deliver more than expected. The asphalt is more like 3" in most places and the expanded turn around is larger than specified. His price for this work was several thousand less than the other proposal I had received.

Pete came out to my house within a day after I contacted him through Angie's List for a quote. He explained to me everything that they would be doing before he could put in my new driveway from killing the grass on the area to be paved, to grading the area to everything that would happen the day the paving was put in. I felt very informed about a process I knew nothing about. He even explained the different grades of paving asphalt, and what would be best for my sloping driveway. On the day the asphalt was put down, everyone involved was helpful and able to answer all of my questions. Pete was also there to make sure the job was finished correctly, make sure that everything was sloped exactly right for heavy rainfall, and answer my questions. It was nice to deal with someone who I felt was very honest.

It was an excellent arrangement. Pete was professional and most honest which for this profession is not typical. He suggested instead of blacktop we go with an alternative for one driveway that is used often for heavy equipment. The alternative was a lot less expensive and worked well. We did blacktop the second driveway and that one was perfect.

Pete does a great job, and always goes the Extra Mile. He applied more asphalt than initially quoted and at NO additional cost. This the second time that I have used Pete's service in 2 years. He coated my large driveway two years ago and did a superior job.

Pete's crew arived on time, let me move my car and got right to work. They first cleaned the driveway with a blower, so that there was no dirt or leaves. Then they mixed and applied the sealer, making sure they cover all of the driveway with a good coating. When they finished they cleaned up and left a caution tape blocking the driveway so no one would drive on it untill it was dry.

When called Pete Workman promptly scheduled an estimate appointment, showed up on time, listened and made suggestions and then provided a written estimate. When I decided to use his company, I called, he came over the next day and we scheduled a date two weeks later. He wrote up the contract we signed and I gave him a 50% deposit. As the date approached the weather started getting colder and Pete called to say he had an opening several days earlier then scheduled, I was worried it was getting to cold to pave so I jumped at the offer. He and his crew showed up on time and went right to work getting my driveway ready to pave, they even moved some excess grave to an area behind my garage and leveled it out. Then the paving crew came and put down the blacktop. They did a wonderful job and made some adjustments following my requests. Pete not only provided the three inches of blacktop specified he put down more where he thought it was needed. In one day I had a beautiful new blacktop driveway that will be so much easier to plow this winter. I am very pleased with the job and Pete will return in the spring to apply sealer as he wrote in the contract.
