I called John and he said he would try to make it out later the same day, but couldn't tell me what time. I work from home and was on a conference call when John called to tell me he was on his way to the house. I tried to text him back and ask if 3:45 was a good meeting time (since I could not answer the phone or drop everything and meet him immediately). I received no reply. I called John when my call was over at 3:30. He said he already went to the house and no one was there (no kidding). I asked if we could reschedule, John sounded frustrated and would not return my calls after that. Unprofessional.

John was very knowledgeable about plumbing equipment and codes. He is very professional. It took him about an hour to take the old faucet out and install the new one. He charged us $150 for the labor and about $50 for the service call. The next day we discovered a leak under the sink. We phoned him and he came out immediately to fix it, just a valve that needed to be tightened. He didn't charge us for that second trip.

John returned my telephone call promptly (same day), and showed up at my home early the next morning. He was friendly, professional, and did not mind my kibbitzing while he worked. He donned plastic booties to protect my flooring. Within minutes he had the faulty shower controller disassembled and located the problem -- eroded gaskets. Even though the controller was an off-brand (no longer manufactured), he had replacement parts in his truck. A few minutes later and he was finished, and after testing to see that it all worked, he was off to his next job.

Both visits were great!!!! He's very prompt, helpful at explaining things to a non-plumber, had all the parts and tools he needed, was thoughtful about how far to dial back the house pressure so that the showers still functioned, and clearly interested in saving all our plumbing from the risks involved in too much water pressure. He even gave me a referral for someone to help repair our sheet rock that got water damaged.

He came and fixed our hot water first.  It really was a silly problem (we had calcium deposits in the line that clogged the line).  So he fixed that and in the process, one of the PVC pipes had cracked without either of us noticing before he left.  We turned the washer on that night to use it and discovered this crack.  We called him and he came in promptly the next morning to fix the problem free of charge.  The other thing that he helped us with was installing a gas line for our gas stove.  The line comes into our house at the opposite end of the house, so much of the cost was associated with the actual gas line to run from one side to the other.  He was very quick and efficient and did a great job.  He was very good at explaining things to me as I watched him do his work (I like learning new things like this, especially since this was my first house and we had only been in it for a few weeks).  I would definitely recommend him to anyone.  I do have to admit I'm not 100% sure on the price, which is why I put ~.  It was a while ago, but I remember it being somewhere in there.  The smaller price is for the washer, the higher one is for the gas line.

His communication was clear and prompt.  Initial availability was excellent, but why that changed so much after we discussed the work wasn't clear.  In any case, communication is an important part of a smooth business transaction, and while I wasn't able to hire this tradesman for my projects, I commend him on clear communication.... something we need more of in businesses in our area.

We have used his services a few times and have always found him pleasant, easy-going and professional. He responded quickly to our phone call and came when he said he would.

He was very responsive. Called back relatively quickly (others did NOT). Came out within a day or 2. Had everything up and running within 15 minutes. He seems to know his stuff.
I later had him come out to take a look at a possible gas leak (there wasn't one, thank goodness), look over our gas boiler for future maintenance work (it's a complicated system!), and to increase the heat capacity for the shower faucet. All done in about 1/2 an hour. That cost $90. Quite reasonable to have someone who knows what they're talking about fix those things! We are not and quot;handyand quot; people so trying to save a buck here and there usually ends up costing more in the long run anyway :-/
It has given me great peace of mind to have a reliable person for such important things. Moving is such a pain in the a$$ and finding someone like him on here was fantastic!

Called them on Saturday with a leaky sink. They said it would be difficult to get someone out on the weekend, but someone would come out Monday. First thing Monday, someone came out, fixed the leak, explained why it had been leaking, and didn't try to gouge out more than they had to. Very pleased.

At first John thought the job was much more extensive, and called with a bid of about $600. However, he called back almost right away to let me know there was a less expensive approach we could try first. I was impressed with his honesty. When he set up a time to come, he was always right on time.

I was pleased with the punctuality of the plumber which is now know as Hrunning Water Plumbing (He decided not to renew his franchise with Benjamin Franklin). He was very upfront about how much he was charging for the visit which was originally to fix a leaky faucet. He fixed the faucet in no time and gave me a short history of the type of faucet he just fixed. I brought up a couple of other issues with him: A broken toilet seat which he was able to replace with a spare that he had in his van. I showed him a laundry sink which was coming out of the wall downstairs. He said he would look into ordering a new sink to replace this one. I did not hear from him for a couple of weeks but he finally called me and said he could not find a replacement. He offered instead to build supports for the old sink and keep it upright. He came within a week performed the work on the supports much to my satisfaction. He did an amazing and I highly recommend him.

I had a leak from my garbage disposal. Not an emergency, but I called during the week between Christmas and New Years. They got back to me and scheduled an appointment for the week after New Years. The service person arrived right on time. He immediately determined that the disposal I had was beyond repair (no real surprise - it was and gt;15 yrs old). He said my choice was to remove it or replace it. I wanted to replace it and he said he had some on the truck. The cost was and gt;$400. I was shocked, but felt I didn't have a lot of choices. He installed the new unit in under 30 min. He also fixed a clogged drain in the upstairs tub at no cost. After he left, I looked up the cost of the disposal online - and saw it was priced at ~$100. Since the whole repair from start to finish took just over 30 min, that's a truly ridiculous hourly labor rate! I was happy with the quality of the repair, but I am still appalled at the price.

Clean and friendly, the plumbers always take off shoes and are sure to clean up after they are done. I have a furnace, water heater and several faucets installed or repaired by John and his crew. Everyone is always polite and professional.  They always complete the work within the time frame designated and honor all quotes.

On Monday, January 4th, I called John and said that I would like to discuss the charges with him for the Sunday service because I felt that if he had cleaned the filter when he came during regular business hours, I would not have had to make an emergency call. I stated that I would gladly pay the fee for services, but would like him to waive the $100 emergency charge. He was extremely rude to me and said that it was my responsibility to clean the filter. He told me that he didn't charge me for the service call earlier in December so there was no service guarantee associated with that visit. I stated that he was a professional and should have known that this was the problem and I also stated that I would have paid him for the regular visit, but it was his insistence that there was no charge for that call. I told him that I was disappointed with the manner in which he was treating me, he said he didn't care and hung up on me. I called him back and told him to cancel my $10/month service plan with his company and that we would no longer be using his services. He said "fine", and hung up on me again.
