It went extremely well. Dr. Cloutman explained everything he was doing, as well as the exercises he gave me, so that I understood what muscles he was talking about, and where they were located. It turned out that the shoulder pain was a result of my bad posture (slumping on a sofa in the evening while reading), as well as a weakness in my stabilizing core muscles. One of the best things about this place is that it is a small office, with friendly people, that offers individual and focused attention.

Andrew Cloutman (owner) and physical therapist, and his staff, deliver services with the highest levels of expertise and professionalism. I was extremely satisfied with the treatments, exercise recommendations and ultimate result.

Andy is knowledgable and thoughtful, and has really helped me through the pain and frustration of my situation. At my initial visit, he performed a thorough and careful evaluation in order to understand what my problems were and what my needs were, and spent a long time discussing with me what I should and shouldn't be doing, including my sleep positioning to promote healing and not aggravate my problem. The healing is a long road for me, and he remains attentive to my needs, supportive, and caring. His staff is extremely friendly, and I can always find an appointment time that works with my schedule (after the initial appointment, which is harder to schedule because he spends so long with you). He is the sole practicioner, so the office environment is always calm and friendly. As context, I will say that Andy is my third PT for this problem. The first I thought was very good, but moved far away so referred me to someone else who didn't pay any attention to my limitations and aggravated my injury. So I know how important it is to have a good PT who listens. And even the first PT, who I thought was very good, I realize now was not as knowledgable or as thorough as Andy.

He had a good experience and would definitely recommend them. It has been favorable over other doctors.

I have had other physical therapy in the past, which I found helpful, but there was no comparison to the level of professionalism and dedication that you find at Rivertown Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. They are absolutely the best. Because it is more of a boutique than a large organization, everyone is intimately knowledgable about your specific case and there is tremendous continuity of care. They were careful to titrate the exercises so that I wouldn't, in my overeagerness to get better, re-injure myself and also to inform me that the course of recovery is not a straight line. They also noticed things that my other physical therapies had neglected -- peculiarities of my stance and posture that were exacerbating my disk problems. For those of us who like to understand the science and physiology of back problems, they were always gracious about answering questions and very knowledgeable. The exercises were strenuous because they were specifically targeting areas of weakness. Given the severity of my injury, I made a remarkably rapid recovery and was fully functioning within 3 weeks and able to avoid surgery, although still happily continuing my rehabilitation in order to prevent another occurrence. I couldn't be more grateful and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Andy is a dedicated, creative, interactive PT. THis practice is a boutique practice. You receive highly personal attention and customized service. Previously, I had gone to PTand quot;S in a large rooms, with virtually no assistance beyond the standard exercises. At Rivertown Physical Therapy I learned lifestyle modifications - to prevent the problem from recurring. Finally, the problem was mostly resolved. Highly recommend this practice.

I went. I told Mr. Cloutman why I was there. He has developed an execise routine for me. He stretches hamstrings, quads, etc. for about ten minutes each appointment.

I have been to several physical therapists over the years for treatment for herniated disks in my lower spine. I have had mixed success - mostly due to therapists just wanting to give standard treatment without taking into account the fact that I am the father of two young children and travel a lot.
Andrew understood that he couldn't tell me to and quot;stop picking up heavy loadsand quot; - I have two children.
He also understood that he needed to create a program for me that I would be able to do - wherever my day happened to take me.
He created a rehabilitation program for me that I could do anywhere - even during business meetings.
He taught me the best way to be able to play and pick up my children - so that I could be a good Dad without and quot;breaking my back.and quot;
I arrived to him bent over in pain. Six weeks later I have the tools I need to help prevent major problems with my back, but also to intervene immediately when I feel that my back is about and quot;to go out.and quot;
