My wife and I retained Troy Pearson, aka Mr. Fix and Mrs. Clean, in March, 2019, for six specific projects: building a screened in sun room, adding knotty pine wood to two interior walls, putting river rock on the garage, building a carport, painting part of the back wall to our home, and adding a gable roof to the front door. The wood walls, painted back wall, and the river rock on the garage all turned out fine. However, when it came to building the screened in sun room, it was an entirely different matter. First, we signed a contract for $15,000, and this included all labor and materials. From the beginning the work went very very slow. Mr. Pearson represented to us that his workers were single dads and needed to be home in the morning and in the afternoon for their kids. Hence, they could not arrive before 9:00 a.m. and needed to leave by 2:30pm. We later learned that was the first of many, many blatant lies and misrepresentations. As one of Mr. Pearsons former workers informed us, he told Mr. Pearson, before they began work, that this worker needed to leave early only a few days, not every day. However, Mr. Pearson strolled in around 9:30am and left at approximately 2:15pm each and every day. They were working part time, however we never agreed to this. At that rate he would not complete the sun room until Christmas, 2019. And in March, 2019, when we signed the written contract with Mr. Pearson, we specifically agreed he would complete the sun room by June 1, 2019, and that he would not work on any other projects until he completed our multiple projects. We specifically told him over and over again we wanted the sun room done so we could use and enjoy it this summer. Mr. Pearson represented many times this was his only project. We later learned, again, this was another blatant lie and misrepresentation. In terms of the sum room, we signed a contract for $15,000. Thereafter we agreed to increase the dimensions of the sun room, thus agreeing to pay an additional $1,500. The $16,500 was paid. In addition, despite a signed a contract, and despite the fact that he has been paid in full, Mr. Pearson has demanded more money. And he is only about 70% done with the sun room. He has not worked on the sun room for 6 weeks, so he has abandoned the project. He refuses to work unless he receives more money, and we are definitely not going to allow him to extort money from us. He does not understand that a written contract is binding on BOTH sides. He does not care about a written contract, so if a project costs more than the contract price, he mistakenly believes he can rip up the contract and demand more money. He is sorely mistaken. He took a $5000 check from us on 5/29/2019, that was earmarked for one project, yet never started the project, and has never returned to our home. He now refuses to return the money, another mistake on his part. Interestingly, he never returned to work on the sun room after we gave him the $5,000 n May 29, 2019. Others have told me, now, how dishonest he is. I am also now told he runs a quasi-ponzi scheme, taking funds from new customers to pay for labor and materials for ongoing projects; thats a classic ponzi scheme. And from our experience that seems to be what he did with us, and a former worker for Mr. Pearson confirmed this. Mr. Pearson denies all of this of course, however, he would not know or understand what responsibility is if it smacked him in the face. Nothing is ever his fault; its the owners fault, the suppliers fault, his helpers fault, but never Troys fault. And when I asked him for the return of the $5000, he actually said he spent the funds on his personal expenses, and that he needed it. He actually argued with me stating over and over again he took our money because he needed it. He is dishonest, DO NOT USE HIM
