O'Brien's Contracting Inc

Mr. Steve Obrien (also of 47 W.19th Street) said he would fix my roof and guarantee that it wouldn't leak or he'd be back. He ended up just putting a sealing material on the shingles, and drilling a hole in the siding channel. He said he did this to permit water to drain properly. The entire job took him 30 minutes and he charged me $500. The only reason I agreed to this was that he was referred to me and he seemed so sincere that he would be back if the roof leaked (Lesson Learned). He came back when I called him and informed him that the roof was still leaking. He added more patching material, and said "that should do it, call me if it still leaks". The next week it rained, it still leaked and I called him. He kept making excuses of why he couldn't come back. I ran into him by accident the week before Father's Day, and he asked me if I would wait till the week after. Never heard from him despite repeated phone calls. I've called him several times to try to work this out, that is... either fix the roof or return my money. Well, he doesn't pick up his phone, so I assume I'm out the $500.00 that I paid him for his shoddy and amateur level work. If you look at his bio, he mentions quality work, reliability, dependability, etc. These concepts are truly foreign to him, he doesn't stand behind his work, is not reliable, and is definitely not trustworthy. Save your money and find a contractor that is honest, and not a rip off artist.
