My Pet's Vet

Terrible. we're looking for a new vet ad were extremely disappointed waited for over an hour in the car and nobody came out. Nor were we told anything. We were given the usual excuse that they had an emergency. i think that they overbook their appointments. others who came after me were served before us. I would never go back.

I'm Beamer a 16 year old Shih Tzu. I haven't been feeling well since 9/18/2020, today is 9/30/2020, I thought My Pets Vet cared about me. I went to My Pets Vet in Huntington regularly my entire life. My Dr. was Dr. Barlow she did all kinds of things for me. I think she works there and doesn't own the place? I have bad habits to act like a tough guy, I growl, I nip sometimes but I don't mean it I only do it because Im small and like to act like a big shot, LOL. My Dad says I will be around till I'm 25 years old despite all that nonsense talk of a Shih Tzu life span till 16 yrs old. Dr Barlow says I'm in great shape for my age too. I'm gonna let my Dad continue typing my thoughts from here since Im not feeling myself, Im not sure why I haven't seen Dr Barlow yet? Its been 12 days so far? I noticed Beamer not acting himself he never had tremors. Beamer is a feisty little guy so anyone can see if something isn't right. I called My Pets Vet to move Beamers regular checkup appointment up to hopefully to see him that day. The person answering the phone didn't seem to understand to accommodate a customer or patients needs. Having a long history at a Vet they should be accommodating and concerned to see Beamer the soonest possible. Even if no appointment was available that day I figured the next day or so. The tremors are only sometimes and if it was an Emergancy I would go to an ER Vet immediately but I felt it was important to rush an appointment with my regular Vet and expressed these concerns to them. The attendant speaking handled this issue in an INCOMPETENT manor and I told her she was INCOMPETENT because she was. She said she will check when my existing appointment can be moved up to see Dr Barlow and would call me back. She did call me back and gave Beamer an appointment for 9/28/20 @ 9AM earlier than the previously existing visit. 10 days was along time to accommodate Beamer while the girl was told he's having tremors. Being this didn't seem to be an immediate emergency but still uncomfortable to Beamer, I preferred Dr Barlow see Beamer so I chose to wait and not have a stranger Vet see him, the tremors aren't all the time. So I impatiently wait for the appointment. 10 days pass. They were called INCOMPETENT by me because it was justified and you should express your concerns when you are a customer/ patient and should be attended to when you have paid this vet for 2 dogs about $20,000 for services over the past 16 years. I have 2 SHIH TZU's one named Lucky too. I had a regular well visit appointments set up for both dogs previously but only pushed up Beamers appointment due to this issue. They called me back on 9/18 and gave me an appointment for 9/28. I had no further communications with my Pets Vet from the time they called me to provide Beamers new appointment date. Proof of INCOMPETENT and UNPROFESSIONALISM: Upon calling them from outside giving my parking spot # (Due to Covid) more INCOMPETENCE and UNPROFESSIONALISM occurred. I was asked repeatedly my name, last name, dogs name? I was Told she can't find my appointment or my name. Then told someone will be out to see me. The office manager Donna (INCOMPETENT and UNPROFESSIONAL) says multiple things; I thought you went to another Vet? Since they are too small to do any specialist service and previously recommended Beamer to an eye specialist and I took their advise at that time. Donna told me our dogs records were mailed back to me on 9/26, I had no appointment and Im not suppose to call them incompetent. Apparently at MY PETS VET customers aren't suppose to complain about anything when it's justified? The provider should be professional. Why did they give the appointment and make me wait 10 days? Treat customers like this?? I'm now waiting till 10/04 for the new Vets appointment. My Pets Vet is causing Beamer to be uncomfortable and wait 16 days for attention. Why? Due to their UNPROFESSIONALISM, INCOMPETENCE and LACK OF CONCERN.Take my experience and find another Vet before you ever come here to begin with. This is No way to conduct a business.

I have 3 dogs and 1 cat that are all under the care of Dr. Packard. She is a great doctor and on a doctor to patient level is wonderful and loving. Recently, one of my cats passed and her compassion was touching. I can't say enough about this practice. As my pets begin to age I'm there more frequently and the care is truly outstanding.

They are very easy to get an appointment, they are not as expensive as most vets and they are very good with the animals.

You MUST be careful which doctor you get. Stay away from Dr. Loramore!!!!
Dr. Wulforst and Dr. Brooke are the best! The other vets are good too.

I have been using this vet for many years. Most often I get an appt. with Dr. Brooke. She is THE BEST! Very difficult to get an appt. with her these days. You Must call well in advance. However, in an emergency, ANY of the other vets are good.
I would highly recommend My Pets Vet to you.

They are very terrific. My pet is well-healed. Ten days later, they wrapped him up, gave him a little antibiotic and did everything. They were all so good and friendly and they have been wonderful doctors.

Our cat was brought in in respiratory distress. The vet on duty handled it as an emergency but did not do xrays, even after I pointed out a weight loss. The xrays would would show a cause different than what she believed initially. In fairness, she did call us early the next day to check on her condition and had us bring her back in immediately since the treatment did not work. This time she was x-rayed and diagnosed with a grave condition. She gave us accurate information about the condition and suggested a course of treatment. When we asked about possibly going to a specialist, she told us that would be expensive and did not refer us. We did not press her. When we went back for follow-up since our cat stopped eating, a different doctor was on duty- Dr. Wulforst. Dr. Wulforst was very thorough and caring and worked to help us save our cat's life- she called us on the weekend, allowed us to come up and get medicine when they were closed. She spent time with us and listened to us. She eventually referred us to a specialist where we received the right recommendation and were referred to the best surgeon on Long Island. Despite very grim odds, our cat is doing well 15 months after surgery. Our experience with Dr. Wulforst was very professional and thorough and really cared and I would recommend her highly. If I was rating only her , I would have given an Overall Excellent rating.

They know what they are talking about. We have seen many vets over the years. We have a new Siamese kitten and we were debating which inoculations it needed. We know now specifically what is available, what the cat needs, and what is just money hungry. They are fantastic. Their prices are reasonable, but that is not why we go to them. We can’t say enough about them and we are 100% happy with them.

I've had all my animals see all the different vets that she works with and they're all excellent. Even the vet techs are great. I've brought cats and dogs, but I see that she's got Canadian geese and raccoons (lol). Everything! She's very active in local animal charities, shelter organizations and adoption groups. I feel like they are all particularly caring. They'll get down on the floor and talk to the dogs. I've got one dog that is slightly aggressive and she gets down and kisses her right on the lips. It's great. The prices are reasonable for the area and the care she offers.

I usually leave feeling pleased or relaxed. If I have a problem, I call and I am helped.

Dr. Brooks is excellent, she is a vet who remembers you and knows who you are when you come in with your dog. She is the only vet that can handle my Dog, my dog has many "issues" and is a difficult patient, Dr. Brooks always handles her with care. I have been bringing my dog to her for several years. She will see my dog anytime. I used to live 2 miles away I moved almost 40 miles from "My Pets Vet" and I still travel out to Long Island to take my dog. In a pinch we had to take my Dog to another Vet which was horrible they couldn't even diagnose what was wrong with my dog. The next day I was able to bring my dog to Dr. Brooks who took one look at my dog and new exactly what was wrong with her and quickly diagnosed her.

Dr. Leah Wolfurst of My Pets Vet is amazing. She will actually get down on a level with my dog and talks to her and makes her comfortable. She keeps a bag of cheese there to give the dogs a treat. She is very good about explaining everything. One time we were late and she got us in quickly. We've never had to wait more than 5 minutes. We actually travel 1 hour just so we can go to this clinic.

This location is great for me. I can book appointments a few days before bringing my dog in. They are very flexible and genuine about the care they give to animals. The one doctor there is really friendly and compassionate. I like the fact I do not have to sit around and wait forever in the waiting room either. When you have an excited dog that's the last thing you want to do and I think they always take that into consideration.
