"Thank you for your kind comments, and your understanding of our missing our first appointment. We appreciate that you gave us another opportunity, and that you were pleased with the results."
"I find this review curious since we did return to the [member name removed] home and move piping and the heater at no charge. I am sorry that I was perceived as unprofessional, I pride myself on being courteous and professional even under pressure. I did take out my ruler to measure the heater, which [member name removed] was claiming was bigger than the original, and to help figure out what we would have to move and what we would gain. I will say that we should have been more aware of the lack of space in the room and maximizing that space from the start. The old heater was leaning over and installed crooked and we were mistakenly more concerned with installing the new heater straight. As far as our pricing, we are not the least expensive plumbers, but we are not the most expensive. We charge accordingly to provide clean professional technicians with clean, organized trucks to complete a professional job. We do once in a while make mistakes but we do stand behind our work as we have in this instance. With regard to my only caring about my high prices, I would again argue that that just is not the case. I did allow the [member name removed] to make payments for the work and I did not require payment in full upon completion as my estimate had requested. I understood that it was the Holidays and everyone struggles at that time of year. I feel strongly that this review is not a true representation of our company or how this job played out."
Excellent. There were some unexpected problems such as faucet being too close to wall for a bracket to fit, but Tom found a different bracket in his truck that could do the job.
I have used Berleth several times over the years. Their work is always excellent.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on our service yesterday. We hope that people don't have to call us too often, but a returning customer is a true compliment!"
"We certainly don’t like to disappoint any client, but sometimes it happens, no matter how hard we try to do the right job. The leak in the basement was on cast iron piping, which is never safe to have just one man change out. We have the safety of our technicians and the protection of the customer’s home as a priority, so we rescheduled that work when a second man was available. The tub spout the customer had purchased was a home center plastic tub spout, which any reputable plumbing contractor would not use. We recommended the chrome plated brass tub spout that our technician had on his truck so we could insure longevity of the product that was being installed, and the customer agreed. There are many variables that would affect the timing of a job, we cannot see through walls, so a simple tub spout replacement became a little more involved once the old tub spout was removed and we found connection piping within the wall that had to be changed. This could have been why the homeowner himself was having trouble. Our half hr service call turned into 1.5 hrs, and we bill by the half hr. It is not our company policy to itemize any bills. The customer said the bulk of the invoice was for materials, but I would have to respectfully disagree. Visit #1 was $255/labor and $56.89/materials, plus tax. Visit #2 was $560/labor and $163.41/materials, plus tax. When [Member’s name removed] called two weeks later to express her dissatisfaction, she was issued a check which reflected the extra hour of labor for Visit #1, and the price of the tub spout that we provided, and the applicable sales tax. Being that these are the two points the customer seemed most upset with, I’m confused as to why they are complaining a year and a half later, when restitution was made on both those issues. The customer still got their problems taken care of, and any misunderstandings about money were addressed. Many companies would not have even entertained returning any of the customer’s money, and would have just written them off. We tried our best to salvage the relationship by issuing the refund we did, but there are some people we just cannot make happy."
I would definitely use this company again, and would recommend to others.
