Rooter-Man

The tub drain pipes are galvanized and were very slowl.  The attempts to clear the bath tub drain completely failed.  The young man tried using two different sized snakes through the drain hole itself, through a side panel in the bedroom whch provided access to a pipe which connected to the drain and through the bathroom sink drain.  He said he would have to charge $130 extra to clear the clog through the sink drain pipe but he backed off and made the attempt without additional (to the $200) charge.  It failed.
He made no other attempts using other methods like industrial strength chemicals or a 'blow bag' which uses water pressure to try to clear the clog.
I paid the $200 because I agreed to pay it, successful or not.
I brought in another plumber who used the blow bag and strong chemicals.  He went through the procedure twice and it was completely successful.  The drain runs more freely than it has in many, many months.  He charged far less.
I believe the young man Rooter-Man sent was inexperienced and had only one approach to the problem.  He didn't call for help on alternative approaches which I believe he should have.
