MANLEY'S MASONRY

Excellent job from start to finish at a very reasonable cost.  I had gotten several estimates from local masonry firms.  I chose Manley's Masonry because the owner, Manley Vita, seemed to know his business and gave me a reasonable estimate on which we negotiated and settled on an agreeable price.
I bought the pavers from a local masonry dealer and had them delivered to the driveway.  The paver manufacturer's web site had an installation guide on-line which Manley agreed to follow as part of the written contract.  He stated that the guidelines are basic industry methods for paver installation which he always follows.  These include excavating and laying out the patio area with proper drainage slope, a four inch layer of RCA (Recylcled Concrete Aggregate), a one inch layer of masonry sand (the excavated soil, the RCA layer and the sand layer each slowly and carefully leveled with a plate compactor), installation of the pavers with sand swept into the approx. 3/8 inch spaces and installation of a cement restraint border for stability.
The job took three days as Manley said it would.  He and his nephew, Jim, and two workers (salaried, not day laborers) worked professionally and carefully and cleaned up neat as a pin.  Manley advised me to let the patio "cure" for about 30 days, periodically sweep the left-over sand over the pavers to fill in spaces where sand had settled, and then apply Nanopave Sealer (available from Home Depot) to harden and bind the sand between the pavers which will minimize weeds and ants.  The patio looks great.  Now, all I have to do is seed the border ground area, get some outdoor furniture and we're in business!
As far as I'm concerned, if you're looking to have paver work done around your home you will be very pleased with this company from start to finish.  Manley is very pleasant, knowledgeable, and sensible to deal with and you will have a satisfactory experience.
