Blinds or Shades - Install or Replace
My experience with Homestead Window Treatments has been perfect & great! I had another company abandon the job after starting & taking payment. They left a mess. Mark from Homestead window treatments came in and fixed and finished the job. They ordered shades to replace those that were missing and they really seemed to know what they were doing (unlike the company that stole from me). I am so happy with the job they did, and will recommend them whole heartedly.

Mark was very helpful when I visited the showroom - making suggestions and pointing out pros and cons of various treatments based on my needs. When he came to measure the sample he brought enabled me to see the colors in my lighting. Job came in on time and his installers were very professional. One treatment came in damaged (from manufacturer). They immediately called it in and new one bring installed this week.

Excellent service. Their experience allowed them to make recommendations that were perfect for my space. Their price was better than two other estimates I had. The installation was quick and professional and the product looks wonderful. I would definitely use them again and and highly recommend them.

From the initial phone call to the installation, the process was flawless. Mark brought samples to the house, made some suggestions, and took measurements for 18 windows. The blinds arrived in the promised time-frame. They looked so good that we decided to do the remaining 16 windows. We could not have asked for a better experience, and we couldn't be happier with our window treatments!

Very well. I initially learned of this business on FB and corresponded with them for quite some time before finally being able to make a purchase. I asked several questions about products, pricing, etc. which they responded to promptly and professionally and in such a friendly manner. Following them on social media, I came to really like them before ever meeting anyone in person. When I finally made an appointment and met the owner, he was just as friendly and professional in person as he had been when we were messaging. He is very nice young man. He brought samples with him and advised me me on things I might want to consider as well as things that might not be worthwhile. He was honest and at no time did I feel pressured into anything. The installer who came did a fine job putting up the treatments and explaining how the power controller works. He also took away our old broken window treatment, which saved us the trouble of having to deal with it. I am happy to recommend them and will definitely use them again.

It went very well. Mark brought all the samples to our home and we chose what worked for us within our budget. Three weeks later his installer arrived right on time, installed all the shades and took away all the old verticals. Everything looks very nice and we are very happy.

We never ever used a professional for window treatments..i always installed blinds or curtains myself. I even thought about getting these shutters through the mail and assembling them myself....glad i didnt. I got quotes from big box stores and franchised places then homestead came in....Mark was our guy. He was extremely knowledgeable and his advice was spot on - his price was even better....beat lower quality products with Hunter Douglas shutters INSTALLED. I would definitely call them again and recommend you do too.

Really a simple thing - I just wanted to switch out blinds for shades on my kitchen windows - called him since he had installed something in my bedroom. Because the window treatments in my bedroom, was a total redo, was dome with a designer he refused to sell me blinds unless I went through the designer - OK seems kind of ridiculous but I call the designer while he is still there and arrange to go to her to pick them out ( but really I think I could have picked out white shades on my own but whatever). I had inside mount blinds previously which is what I wanted again - so he measures the windows and leaves. Coe home after install and he has out up out side mount shades which look terrible and is not what I wanted - he will not make it right. Now I have to redo this and he put holes in my molding which I just had redone. These are very expensive and are supposed to have a custom look - I could have done this myself for 1/10 the cost by going to home depot and buying some shades tand it would look just as good

It is our duty and obligation to protect professional and associate members of the Interior Design Society, that bring their clients to us. Since you didn't use our company directly on your first project that we completed for you, we are not able to take you on as our "own" customer. We run our business on honesty, integrity and fairness, and with respect to our colleagues, I personally could not complete the project for you without you notifying your designer. As for pricing, please know that you were not charged a higher price by going through the designer. We give our designers special trade pricing, so that their clients receive the same pricing as our own customers would. As for installation, I was not aware that there was any issue after the shade was installed until reading your review, nor would we ever refuse to fix any wrong doing. I did touch base with your designer Claudia today and explained why the shade should be mounted on the outside in my professional opinion. Please understand that when I measured your window, I always take into account the measurements and the installation for the best possible application. Your previous inside mount wood blind, had brackets that were mounted to the corners of the window opening and allow screws to go through the backside of the bracket. The new product selected was a PowerView Honeycomb shade. This product has brackets that have to be screwed through the top of the bracket and have to be mounted closer to the center of the window. The trim around your window is extremely thin, and with that being said, would very likely have cracked with an inside mount installation or would not withhold the weight of the shade overtime. Please also take into account that when you order a motorized shade, that does add to the cost of the shade and you do need more window depth then when you order a shade without a motor. I touched base with Claudia today in regards to your concerns and she said she will be contacting you. I have pictures of where your old brackets were mounted if you would like to review them. As you can see from our other customer reviews on Angie's List, we are not the type of company to ever leave a customer unsatisfied. From the minute I walked into the showroom in Huntington Station to the installation three weeks later, I was very pleased with my Homestead Window Treatments experience. I chose two different types of blinds--one top-down, bottom-up shade for a bathroom and off-white wood blinds in two bedrooms that lift just by raising the bottom of the blind. In the master bedroom I chose shutters that look terrific! All were from HunterDouglas. The installation took place three weeks after purchase, just as Mark Perel stated, and the installer cleaned up after the job was complete.
I would be happy to return to Homestead Window for any future treatments!
