When I had a mysterious, recurring electrical short in one of my upper-floor circuits, I called South Mountain Assoc. on the recommendation of a friend. Owner Bob Basil was immediately responsive, personally coming out to the house to meet me and check out the wiring, and telling me to call next time the failure occurred. When it did, he sent out one of his employees, who expertly traced the culprit: a previous electrician who had removed a ceiling light fixture for me had capped wires without twisting them, creating a spark gap. South Mountain fixed the problem and charged me fairly for their time.
This wasn't the first problem left behind by the previous electricians, who charged me a lot and did not know what they were doing. I'm very glad to have found a fair, friendly, and competent electrician up here on the mountaintop, and I will continue to call Bob Basil whenever I need electrical help.
