After a year of literally begging contractors to come bid the job, most never came out, and those who did never gave a quote. Joe came the next day and then two days later asked if he could send his crew in the following day. I had given him a $2500 deposit but did not have the balance in my checking account. I told him I did not expect such a quick turnaround and suggested he hold off until I had the balance of funds, but he said not to worry. "Pay me when you can; I'll probably start anyway". His crew was in and out in a week despite some rainy weather. I had forgotten to add in the playhouse in the bid (one square's worth of shingles) and he said he'd "take care of me". It was a freebee! The only negative on the whole deal was that one of my chimney bricks got knocked down the flue, but I has some spares on hand. Joe is a personable guy; easy to do business with.
