The work seems to be of good quality, although I feel the grading of the driveway could have been a little better (water pools in several places where it should instead run off the edge of the driveway. The main problem I had was the upsell. They start preparing the area and they clear an area that is larger than the driveway you actually asked for. In my case, I thought ok, it could be convenient to have a wider and longer driveway, but as an unexperienced homeowner (and not a shrewd paving company owner) you don't realize how quickly those square feet add up into thousands of dollars you did NOT want to spend. Even though they did the work as agreed, I came away feeling that I had been pressured into spending more on a larger driveway I didn't really need.

Contraced them to do the driveway on 7/24. Never did it until 8/22. I told them what I DON'T want is "blotches" and at the end of my driveway was a blotch so it was not a straight line across my driveway. I called Dave on 8/24 and he said he would be out to fix it that Wednesday, 8/28. Today is 9/13 and I have not seen him or heard from him, not even a phone call. I waited to make sure we had a few nice days so he couldn't use weather as an excuse. Well, when he did the driveway, he told me he had extra material and for $50.00 more, he would use it in my other driveway. Not realizing I already paid for the material (should have been in with the estimate) I said ok. After I called Dave about the "blotch", I was talking to my neighbor and he thanked me for having these pavers use left over material to do a little of his driveway. What???? First, I paid for the material in the estimate, then I paid an additional $50.00 for left over material for my driveway and my neighbor gets even more leftover material. Why wasn't ALL the leftover material used to do more of my second driveway. I paid for it anyway! I know Dave did not charge my neighbor as he was not the owner of the house so he would not have authorized and ok to do it. Had I known about the neighbor's driveway BEFORE I called Dave he REALLY would have gotten an earful. Sorry, but I don't think that was an ethical thing to do and I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

Very responsive to our call. Rep got there within a few days when we were available.
Job did not get done quite when erxpected. They said they had to be in the area first (doing some other big job) before they would come and do our driveway. Then there was delays because of rain. Took a month before the job was actually done.
Do not know if this is typical of pavers or not. This is not the kind of job you have done every day.
After the quote was made my wife noticed there was a 5% Angie's List coupon for this paving company. They would not honor it. Which just reinforces that thesecoupons that have to be given to them before the estimate is done are just scams. The 5% percent is probably added up front then 'taken off' at the end to make it look good.

They came did the job. They were Friendly as they did the job. But in a month later noticed cracks forming in the driveway. i called James young he was so rude on the phone to me. He sent out his workers, they claim i did it and it wasn't from their work. Gave me a hard time but did fix it. Now i have a huge patch job in my brand new driveway .. a couple months later i had to call them back and for the same problem. Once again they were rude and they fixed it, but you can see all the areas where they fixed.i never seen anything like it. i would pay a little more to get better service. then they had the nerve to call me back and wanted to charge me 700.00 to seal my driveway, when the worker who was at my house told me it was 600.00 so they even tried to over charge me. i found a company who did it the sealing for 450.00. I wish i never used them i paid 7000.00 to pave my driveway. and within 6 months i have patch jobs. they also did my neighbors driveway, they had issues so when steve was at my home he went over there. then came back to my home yelling thats i i quit i can't take this d*** job. i wasn't rude to them at all when they were at my house. and to have him come yelling and throwing a fit . so unprofessionally. the only way they can solve my problem is to put another layer down to cover the patch and flaws and i know that would be out of the question. so i would not recommend this company ..

Prompt response after querying the company for a quote. Representative was fair friendly and quoted a fair price -- well under some, but a bit more than others. Most importantly, he knew his stuff, and the company really only does road, driveway and parking lot paving, which means they own most of their own equipment and know how to operate it. Not the case with many general contractors who quoted us. The deal was sealed and they appeared within just a few days as promised. Cracker-jack team of workers who knew exactly what they were doing and have the process down to a science. Whole process took a bit longer than expected -- a full day -- but mostly because we made an adjustment mid-job, widening one part of the drive beyond what we'd agreed to, and they had to go back for a bit more asphalt. No complaints.

The job went perfectly from start to finish. Driveway was graded, item 4 put down over entire area which is a must no matter what the other companies may say, I had a couple companies tell me my shaille base was perfect, again, do your research...

James S Young Sr. was the one who did the job. They did a good job. I would refer them to friends and family members. Their price, quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were good.
