Thorough and friendly

This is the second time I used Harry Harvey as the structural inspector for a new house purchase.  The first time, Harry saved me approximately $30,000 in major and minor repairs.  Without his incredibly professional and detailed review and analysis I would not only have overpaid but would have been saddled with the $30k.  His report allowed me to get out of the contract.  I found another house recently.  Harry's keen eye and expertise identified a couple of larger issues and a myriad of smaller ones.  Not enough to get out of the contract but gave me a sense of what I needed to do.  I have friends who have used other inspectors and have wound up with hidden 5 figure repairs.  
Harry is just the best.

Harry did a thorough investigation of our 1850 home.  He was very helpful in pointing out any more significant issues as he went.  The report that he provided that same evening via email detailed both recommendations for any purchasers and suggestions for things we my want to address now.  Within a couple days we had in our possession a hard copy of his report. Harry was very prompt, actually arriving 10 minutes early.  He worked steadily and yet took the time to tell me about things he discovered.  I thought that his services would be very helpful to anyone who was trying to make decisions about what projects should be addressed first in taking care of the home, even if a sale wasn't being considered.

I have worked with Adam in the past as a real estate broker.  Adam does a thorough job and I was able to trust him to do this not present and living in another state at the time.  The turn-around time for his evaluation report was prompt.  There was great communication and responses.  It is understandable that his prices are higher because this is a franchise but we felt it was worth the money to get the job done right.

Harry Harvey is a fantastic home inspector. This guy will crawl into the depth of your crawl space, basement, attic and beyond. Harry literally climbed into a small roof crawl space for us in the heat of August to make sure he could check every nook and cranny of the house. He leaves no stone unturned, he is very professional and is honest with his assessment. He doesn't gloss anything over, he tells it like it is and that is exactly what you want from a home inspection. He takes detailed notes on his computer as he goes, and prints out a binder for each customer with his assessment, as well as photo's of the inspection. We have used these binders to maintain several rental properties over the years, they are a fantastic resource for any home owner. I have used Pillar to Post numerous times and have never had a bad experience. If I could, I would take Harry with me when I buy other things. ;0)

They came, lookwd and reported. Very responsive to questions.

He showed up on time.  Gave an honest and thorough account of what he found with the house.  Wanted us around to show us what he found.  Told us both good and bad pints.  Suggested improvements to be made.  He got dirty looking through this house for us.  promptly emailed and posted our documents to us.

He was incredibly thorough and documented everything as he went along on a laptop.  He did turn on all the appliances, checked all the receptacles in the house didn't leave a single one, also crawled into the craw space. Our crawl space has a very tiny entry one has to squeze oneself due to the fact that our house is a cape cod style. He did point us certain things that needs to be fixed mainly cosmetics. He has a very good ethics and he did not refer to a contractor.This produced an instant report for us to use.  He did email us the hard copy of the report in mail along with report on radon & pest infestation report. We bought the house.  I gave him a B for price.
