I brought my wife's Pontiac Vibe in with a bad front brake caliper that was leaking and needed replacing. The brake pads, calipers and rotors on both front wheels were not worn as they had been recently replaced 05/27/2020 by Stewarts Service in Hornell for $524.83 with tax. Exactly twice the work at a lower price than Monro charged for one wheel! I would have done the work myself , but didn't have the time, and my wife needed the car the next day. The tech said the wheel would need the caliper AND pads AND a rotor. The reason given for replacing the pads and rotor was that although they were not worn, they were " soaked with brake fluid", I could maybe understand the need for new pads, but the rotor is a non-permeable chunk of iron and could be cleaned with brake parts cleaner, and/ wiped clean, according to various automotive websites. Anyway the total bill was around $683 including the sales tax. As I now have receipts in hand I have corrected this from previous posts. The breakdown prices are: 1. Labor should have been about an hour @ $99 (was $214) Stewarts was $127.50 2. $60.99 for brake fluid that normally retails around $7 a quart Stewarts: $4 3. about $112 for a rotor that normally retails around $50 ( Autozone High carbon Duralast brake rotor w/3yr Warrenty $66.99 retail. Stewarts 50.99 4. 4 brake pads about $120 (Autozone top of the line ceramic brake pads retail for $41.99) Stewarts $69.95 5. The caliper was $169 with the most expensive retail price at Autozone being $70 Stewarts $89.28 I feel that this was not just high, it was a rip-off, Unfair to the hard working area car technicians trying to keep prices low, but also unfair to unsuspecting customers. I am ticked enough to consider a small claims lawsuit!

I was very satisfied with the work they performed. they checked all previous work that was done before they started the alignment procedure and kept me informed of how the job was progressing throughout the procedure. the staff was very friendly and professional. the price was reasonable and completed in a timely manner (about 1 hour). I will use them again and would recommend them highly.

I love going to Monro for work on my car. This time was exceptional, like all other experiences. They are fast, efficient, and do great work. The staff is friendly and lets you know exactly what is going on with your car. They will show you any problems instead of just saying there's an issue.
