Dun-Rite Lawn Sprinklers

Mike and his team at Dun-Rite were very professional to work with. He's been in the business for over 20 years. There was good communication before the installation. We had no issues on the day of the installation - everything went smoothly. He gave a quick demo of how to use the Hunter control system. He said to call him anytime if we had issues with using the control system or questions about any of the Hunter equipment or sprinkler heads/parts.
We got quotes from several companies in the area and ultimately we selected Dun-Rite because of two reasons: the price and Mike's professionalism. In the quote he gave us before a decision was made, he included all of his licenses and reviews which was a plus - no other companies did that. Some of the other quotes over-exaggerated the number of zones we had, but Dun-Rite did not. Mike came across (upon our first meeting) as honest, straightforward and a nice human being. When we asked how long the system parts should last, he told us that if we took care of the sprinkler heads, we could get 20 years out of them. He said that one of his clients uses oil to keep his sprinklers from drying out during the winter and he's had his Hunter system working perfectly fine for 20 years. In addition his rate to flush the system annually before the winter season was reasonable. I would recommend Dun-Rite and Mike without hesitation for irrigation system work.

The repair was done in 2 visits as the system did not work properly after the first visit and we had to call them back. They came the same day that I made the recall and were very nice people to deal with.

Went very well overall. They finished the job same day and in a timely manner. Overall clean up after they were done was good. Some random pieces found on the lawn afterward but nothing major. The only issue I had with the job was that a back flow preventor was not installed. This prevents water or chemicals flowing back into the water main and into the drinking water. When I asked Dun Rite about this he said it wasn't required but upon further investigation it is required not by the town of Brookhaven but by the state of New York. The water authority also told me it was required. They also told me it's nothing they would check but it is required as a safety measure. I spoke to Dun Rite again about this issue and told them the water authority and the state require it they still insisted it isn't. At this point I told them to come back and install it and I'd pay for it which they said they will work with me on the price though they haven't returned yet so not sure what they will charge.

The day of the installation Mike and his crew started at 8 am just as he said. The entire day they all worked very professionally did just what they said, left no mess and were done in just one day. A follow up visit was needed for a adjustment. I called on Thursday, they took care of it the next day. We couldn't be happier.

I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WITH DUNRITE. THEIR PRICES ARE VERY FAIR AND THEIR WORK IS VERY GOOD. THEY ARE RELIABLE AND I HAVE USED THEM FOR MANY YEARS.
