Similar to others, it was a $40 service call inspection call. They came, inspected, and made their recommendations. Price was originally $575 but was talked down to $400 with a cash payment. Took about 1 1/2 hours. I was very skeptical after reading the reviews on here, but they seemed to do a good job and didn't try and sell me a liner or anything that wasn't needed. The current flue was completely rusted out and obviously needed replacing and the damaged concrete/tar job & extra metal coil on the roof was clearly visible before they snipped it off. I'll update if any of the improvements they made need repair.

One year after, I noted the following: There was still water leaking into the house. The stainless steel chimney cap is not the right size. It does not fit over the two flues (fireplace and boiler): the technician put in a 8x16? cap when 8x22 ½? would have been needed. The seal on the crown was cracked all over. The flashing was cracked and full of holes. In addition to the ineffective job listed above, the technician sprayed silicone sealant on various windows of the house, which I have not been able to clean off. The technician lied on the positive effects his job would have. Also, what he did fix was badly fixed. I contacted them last year to settle the matter. I have been calling them regularly for one whole year now and "Al" has been promising to send in a technician to check and fix the damage. I am still waiting. FINALLY, ON NOVEMBER 5TH 2014 THEY CAME AND FIXED THEIR REPAIRS! THE REDID THE CROWN (USING CONCRETE THIS TIME) REDID THE FLASHING AND FILLED THE CRACK WITH SILICONE. THEY ALSO WASHED THE WINDOWS (OUTSIDE AND INSIDE)

Mastic Home Service have been calling my house phone nonstop for a month, so one day I answered the phone wanted them to stop calling me. They explained to me that they are a chimney cleaning service and they are running a special for the service of $40 vs. $80. I figured that it was a good deal and my chimney was not cleaned since we moved into the house 7 years ago. I scheduled the appointment for the following week. The truck came right on time on the day of the appointment with two servicemen. They were shown where the cleanout door for the chimney was in the boiler room. They disconnected boiler flue pipe to inspect the liner of the chimney. They stated that liner looks Ok, but I should extend boiler flue pipe further into the chimney. Then the next step though me off, they brought in the vacuum cleaner and started to vacuum out the ash from the bottom of the chimney before sweeping the chimney down. One serviceman went outside supposedly to inspect the chimney. The funny thing is that he never took the ladder off the truck and when to the top of the chimney to look at it. When he came back he stated that my cement cap is cracked and two top rows of brick needs to be changed as water gets into the chimney. And I replaced the cement cap 3 years ago. When I told him that, he said they did a very poor job. And because I have a stainless steel cap on my chimney the only way the water is getting in is through the cracks on the top. He figured all that from standing 25? below. Then I see that the second serviceman is packing his vacuum up and ready to leave. I asked him if he is going to sweep the chimney, as that is what they were hired to do. His statement was that they will not do it because there is too much moisture in the chimney and they will damage the liner with the brushes. I am sure there was moisture in the chimney it was pouring outside for 24 hours straight. Anyway he refused to sweep the chimney and told me that if I spent merely $1,600 or so to fix the cap and to waterproof the chimney brick all my problems will go away. I wished them a farewell and send them on their way. Total scam.

Although I have never used Majestic for any services on my home, I do have an issue with the ethics on which their company is run. I live in my grandparents home, which is obviously on some retired/elderly/ senior citizen mailing list. In the last 2 months Majestic has called 3x informing me that I am due for my "annual" chimney cleaning. Their "records show I have not been serviced". Each time I have explained to the cold caller that their tactic is disgraceful. I have a chimney company, it isn't them, and to lead an elderly household to believe so just to get a sale is unethical. They continue to call regardless of my request to remove my number from their list.
