Have used this company's bio fuel for years without a problem. On December 26, I had a delivery and on December 29, had smoke in my basement which necessitated a call to the fire department who affirmed that the problem had come from my boiler.. After numerous service calls (from anther company, with whom I had a contract), I was told that the bio fuel had created sludge in my tank. When I called Discount Fuel to inquire about the fuel used in the December 26th delivery, I was told that Phil would call me back. I never heard from him. For the next several days, there were puffs of smoke shooting from the stack (had no puff back, fortunately). Ultimately, I had to have my underground tank cleaned by a Tank Vac company and a ton of sludge was removed from the tank. On the same day that I had the tank cleaned, I had a COD delivery of Number 2 fuel from a local company. Even after the tank cleaning and #2 oil delivery, there was a strong smell of smoke and oil for nearly a week. Only now, on January 10, does the furnace seem to be running more cleanly. I never realized that this type of fuel could have created this kind of a problem. Would urge everyone to carefully consider the consequences before using bio fuel. Discount Fuel's lack of responsiveness was unforgivable, considering how many years I had utilized the company's services.

Don't buy from them if you have an outside fuel tank and the temp drops below 32F degrees. Their fuel is CHEAP.

Phil Dowell refused to accept responsiblity for the grave mistake of his service man. There is still a smell of oil in my basement...His cleaning crew, walked on the oil spill and then the carpet. There is still a smell of oil in my basement. I understand that there are other complaints against him. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR MISTAKES!!!!

I have been a customer for several years. Their prices are good and, unlike other discount providers, their prices are the same for cash or credit. The staff is responsive and very acccomodating. . Since I pay by credit card, I do not need to stay home for delivery. Phil and Nicolle reply to all e-mail inquiries very quickly and the delivery people are generally friendly and cooperative. Most of my neighbors have had nothing but bad experiences with the large oil companies, but my experiences with Discount Fuel have always been positive. The company also offers a $10.00 of promotion with a coupon code. I use a separate provider for service so my comments are limited only to fuel delivery.

They provided the oil when expected. Of low-cost providers they are almost always near the cheapest. Out of a dozen or more fills I've never had a bad tank from them, and they don't charge a premium for credit cards. Usually the oil is next day delivery but you can sometimes get same day if you order early morning.

i've gotten oil from discount-fuel a few times and everything seemed to go ok, they have low prices. i wanted to start a burner service contract with them and they gave me an appointment for them to show up between 12-5pm a few weeks away. i made sure to be home all day (always a pain in the a**), and even called them at 1pm that day to confirm everything. they said everything was good and driver will call me when he's 20-30 min away. at 5:10, i called them since nobody showed up, and their office is closed. i called the emergency number, and was told that nobody showed up because my burner is currently working and they were too busy servicing orher people'a burners which needed emergency service. a phone call would have been nice! very unprofessional.

The fuel oil was delivered as ordered, but I started having trouble with my burner shortly thereafter. I ended up calling my burner repairman (not affiliated with Discount-fuel) and was told that I had water and dirt in the oil (I always turn the burner off before delivery, never let the tank level get too low and always wait for the tank to settle before restarting boiler).
