Please Do your Research. I thought I had and now almost 100k later I’m living A nightmare. Had addition done. Electric was not to code/ structure was off balance/ and many issues. Had remove drywall to fix leak. Now ceiling is leaking and I’m not getting response. I’m devastated. I have to hire an all new construction crew to come fix their errors and I’m out my money because I truly trusted them and they took advantage of me. Such A shame. Please BEWARE

The price charged was for one first hour (or less) of work. Two men were here for approximately 40 min including  the time to speak with me and  unload and reload ladders. They removed some ice and snow and the lines they said they  "channeled" through the ice jam must have filled up again within days because the leaking never stopped.  I would have been been agreeable to pay the $95 an hour for 2 men to take care of the problem but I was told it was all they could do and the problem would be fine. The area was already leaking into the kitchen and the leaking continued after they left. Several companies I called (after West Side came) to try and get help for the continuing issue told me to unplug the heat tape that I asked West Side to plug back in because it was making things worse. I had no idea that would be a problem.  Unfortunately, none of these companies could fit me into their work schedule. Unplugging the heat tape did slow the leaking down and obviously when the temperatures dropped it stopped altogether for several days.
I called West Side and explained I was not happy with the work that was done as it did nothing to stop or even help the leaking problem. I was told they were sorry I was not happy but the gentlemen who came knew what they were doing and all houses are different. I had explained that my sister's home just had the same problem and her issue had been fixed by actually removing the ice from her gutter. I certainly did NOT want them to return and told them I was simply verbalizing my disappointment.
I finally found another company to come out after 2 weeks of this continued leaking (everyone was very busy this season due to these ice dam issues) and they fixed the problem.  Unfortunately, part of the ceiling had now fallen down and the kitchen cupboards were ruined due to the continued leaking.
The gentlemen from the different company were on my roof for over 2 hours, removing the offending ice and snow. They got all the ice from my all of my gutters ( not just the one causing the problem) then shoveled my walkway afterward  of the HUGE chunks of ice and charged me approximately the same amount of money. ($40 more). The leaking stopped within an hour after the second company removed the ice.
In West Side's defense, I will add that it was several degrees colder when they came out than when the second company came and it has been a hard winter with a lot of these issues everywhere in this area. I also guess they did what they felt was appropriate even if it did nothing to help the problem. All of these "fixes" are only temporary under these types of weather conditions but I did expect to get some relief - even if only temporary for the money that I paid them.
Not in their defense - the ice in the offending gutter was approximately 12 inches thicker (more than doubled in depth)  by the time the seond company came and the snow on the roof had accumulated to at least a foot or more in that area and was mostly solid ice (in that area) on the roof also .  They second company seemed to have no problem removing the ice.

Great experience start to finish. Joe provided an accurate estimate outlining everything that would be replaced and updated in the roof replacement, and likewise provided an accurate start time. Due to the poor weather, they were behind slightly, but met my expectations for completion. The crew was hampered with rain/thunderstorms everyday, but managed to complete the whole job in 3 days. Each day the site was clean, and you wouldn't know they were even there except for the materials on the roof waiting installation. Old attic fan removed, installed 2 new bathroom vents, and ridge vents for both the house and garage. Overall a great experience from start to finish - great job!!

We were happy with the responsiveness to get started on the job. The price was the best of three estimates. Overall the quality of the work was good, but we had a few small issues. Many of the aluminum drip edge sections were cut in very small lengths. When they ran out of white drip edge they paintted brown edging white. It ought to look interesting if that white paint wears off. We called them after the job was completed about a couple of small items that we didn't think were quite right. They told us they would call when they could stop out to discuss those items. As of a year later we have yet to hear from them. They don't seem to be attentive to details or want to follow up to resolve even small items to keep their customer happy.

The gentlemen were very proficient in doing the temporary repair and when finished the owner said he would return when weather permitted to do a permanent repair. The one good thing is now my roof is protected from the winter elements and should not have extended damage.

They did fine and seemed very nice. There is a possibility we will go with them. The person who came out measured everything first and put everything in his quote before coming in to talk with me about it.

Westside developers did a re-shingle job over an existing single layer of shingles using a lifetime warranty architectural shingle. From the initial contact for an estimate, Joe and Kim were a pleasure to deal with at the peak of a busy season. Joe came out quickly to provide an estimate which was well within and competitive with the 6 other estimates obtained. He was a straight forward and courteous person to deal with who answered any and all of our questions regarding this relatively simple job. This was appreciated as we had no experience with having roofing work done in the past.
Once we took their bid for the work, Kim was also a pleasure to deal with in answering further questions that came to our attention after the initial estimate was performed. Clear time-frames were provided as to when the work would / could begin and subsequent calls were answered promptly regarding the upcoming work.
The day of the work, Joe and his crew were onsite exactly at the time provided by Kim (7:30am). This was highly appreciated as we both have to juggle with getting to work in the morning and keeping a 2 year old happy at the same time. Joe's crew was very professional and went to work right away. They needed nothing from myself and completed the job by the end of the day. One would not know anyone was here except for the fact that I came home to a great looking roof and new gutters. We would not hesitate for one second in the future to call Westside if were to need their available services again.
The invoice for the work completed was spot on to the estimate. The quality of the work was excellent.

They gave me a quote. They did the work. They then told me that they didn't need new plywood on the roof so the price was lower than what they had quoted. I was impressed with them. I would use them in the future.

They were quick and friendly. He gave me a good estimate. I called 5 or 6 places. Their price was very good. Their work was meticulous. They were very fussy about how they did the work and they paid attention to detail. He tore one whole side of my house off after they finished because it didn't look straight to him. It was a little crooked and he wanted it to be exactly right.

It took them only two days to remove the old roofing and install the new roofing. All the debris was cleaned up and removed.
As of this date (01/17/2012) there have been no leaks. Therefore I am glad to say this was a job well done.

Kim was very responsive and very good about having the guys work around our vacation plans. Joe was very professional in his manner and very good in detailing what the guys were going to do in my contract. I like the look of the new shingles. They look more textured than the ones we had previously. Overall, I like the workmanship of what they did. There were just a few exposed nailheads that I needed to tar caulk over. Three months later, one of the shingles developed a tear from a passing extension cord while I was blowing leaves off the roof. I tar caulked that back down as well. He did mention that I would need to paint the trim and the soffit afterwards. He didn't mention a couple of other things, that they weren't going to do, that I needed to touch up myself. One of these things was a 1' x 1' piece of rotting fiberboard soffit over the garage. Another was, adjacent to the soffit they replaced, the board holding up the gutter, had about a 3 inch section that was rotted. I took care of them both as best as I could. Down the road... these two items may both need to professionally repaired. In hindsight, I wonder if we could have discussed that. No big deal, though. I believe I received a good value for the price.
