Start to finish, wish I had never called them to install a fence for my daughter. 15 weeks from contract to installation, had to come back due to incredibly poor work, missing parts, gaps that her dog could fit through that my husband had to fix, no showed for the first fix and wasted my time going to meet them, left numerous pieces and parts in the yard when they left, terrible communication, rude employees. But they took off $200 from a $4600 job! So I guess that should make it all better. All around the worst company I've ever dealt with. Would give them zero stars if I could.

They did a good job. We were happy with how it came out. They can be a little more timely. It took several months for them to come out.So if there's a way they can speed that up a little bit. They dumped some dirt in our flower garden, some cement mix. We called them and let them know we didn't appreciate that.

They were the only company that responded to us. My first impression was fine. I don't really have to much to say about that.

NYS Fence was the only outfit to break out the measuring tape and specifically ask what we wanted and where. I had 3 other estimates done and no one else walked the lot with us like Dave did. He went into lots of detail and discussed our options. The other guys barely got out of their truck before they were back in it handing me a business card with a price. I got a full schematic from NYS Fence with everything mapped out, along with a brochure showing the different types of fencing. Unfortunately the start date estimate slipped due to weather but NYS Fence made every effort to provide a start date window which they ultimately held to. Fencing took 4 days to install and the gates were installed 3 days later. Adam was the foreman on the job and he was just awesome to deal with. Super friendly and willing to work with you. He and his partner took great care in digging and setting posts (by hand!) and the fence is perfectly straight and plumb. Our yard slopes to the back and they did a really nice job following the slope. Gate hardware is super solid and I like that the wood gates have a custom metal frame. I'm not sure everyone does that. I seriously considered DIYing it to save some $$$ but after seeing the finished product I'm glad I chose to save myself the frustration and back-breaking work. Fence looks amazing and our Great Dane loves romping in the back now off-leash.

I had to wait 6 weeks for the work to begin. The workers were polite and worked for a day and a half. A few days after they finished, I checked the sturdiness of the new posts, and they were as loose as the ones they replaced. I was told that they would make it right when I contacted the office. They returned and put more dry cement in the holes, but the posts are still loose. I will not use New York State Fence again.

Pretty good, fence looks great. I did purchase special locks with keys for the fence, and they were not installed properly, they were only screwed on in only place so when the door shut it would pull on the latch and it broke within the first few months. They did come out and replace it but they also didn't fully attach the new one, put in extra screws myself in the areas where there were obvious holes for screws but none were put in. Otherwise great, beautiful fence and I think good value.

The fence installation went well and looked nice. I followed up with them on 08/15/14 to ask them about installing a wider gate. I called them back today (08/18/14) as I have not received a call back. The receptionist told me that I should not have expected a call back until at least Wednesday 08/20/14. Later the same day I received a call back from the salesman, who informed me that it would be 6-8 weeks for someone to come back out to give an estimate and probably longer to get the work completed. I told him that did not seem reasonable as I was told initially that it would only take approximately 30 minutes to install the new gate. He told me "I can only do what my boss tells me" and hung up on me.

I had a fence installed by these folks 12 years ago. They only gave me one key and I decided that I'd like another so I called to ask how to get one. The man asked me about something he said was printed on the latch. I said that I hadn't looked at the latch (I didn't know there was anything on the latch much less something important). He then said something to the effect that how they had to have this information. His tone was EXTREMELY snarky implying that I was stupid for not knowing this. I hung up in disgust. He could well have been polite and explained what he needed but instead he treated me like some sort of idiot. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. They didn't do a very good job installing the fence 12 years ago. They didn't implant the posts below the frost line so in winter the post to which the latch links moves and I can only keep the gate closed using a chain and lock.

This job was a nightmare form beginning to end. The fence was not installed properly. I had to argue with our salesman to have someone come out to look at the job. Once that was done they fixed the grading on the fence. In doing so they damaged the concrete footings. This allowed water to seep in eventually rotting the posts. The double gate was never hung properly including failing to secure the hinges. It has never latched properly and they refused to fix it. This was the worst experience that I have ever had with a contractor. I wish that I was a member of Angie' List sooner so that I could have shared thisat an earlier time.

Our experience was a positive one and I would recommend New York Fence Company to anyone looking to purchase and install a fence.

They did an excellent job.

Overall, my experience went well and did what they said they were going to do. They are a little higher priced, but the quality was very good.

This was by far one of the absolute worst experiences I've ever had with a company. I could write a novel about all the things that went wrong, but here are the highlights... The job that the 1st crew did was so sloppy and unprofessional that we demanded it be fixed before we pay the balance due. Friends and neighbors who saw the fence couldn't believe how bad it was. If I get the chance I will post some photos -- they have to be seen to be believed. Badly misaligned boards, nails that completely missed their target, uneven board cuts, poor quality boards, posts of different heights, a gate lock that was installed backwards -- you name it, they botched it. We spent weeks and weeks trying to get the owner on the phone, but whenever I called and asked to speak to him he was always "in a meeting" or otherwise unavailable to speak to me. I finally had to e-mail him nearly 100 digital photos I took of the shoddy workmanship his crew had done, and told him if he didn't make it right I'd be posting those photos on the Internet. I also talked to an attorney about potentially filing suit against this company if they did not fix their work. Finally I was contacted and told that a new crew would come out and replace our fence. Yes, they had to take down the entire fence and rebuild it! The 2nd crew indicated that the 1st crew "might" have had a habit of drinking on the job. Judging from the sloppy work they did, I believe it. The 2nd crew's work was much better, but not what I would call "flawless". We were so tired of dealing with this company and their lies and fast-talking salesman that we just accepted the 2nd fence so that we could get on with staining it. I know for a fact that they lost several other jobs because of friends and family who saw their work on our fence and decided against giving them the job fencing their own yards. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy.

We called NY State Fencing regarding what we wanted done and were told that the job would be done within the week. They then sent a follow-up letter which said the job would be done in four weeks with no acknowledgment of the discrepancy. When they finally came, they did not have the proper parts for the gate and said they would have to come back. We had to be very assertive to get them to come back and finish the job. Also had to push the installers to do what was actually laid out in the estimate. Our neighbor also got an estimate and he was given very different prices than we were for the same services. The fence is fine for our needs; it is not badly installed, but it wasn't installed particuarly well, either, possibly because by the time they finally came the ground was frozen and there was snow on the ground resulting in gaps at the bottom of the fence.

This is the fourth time I have worked with NY State Fence. They have always done good work for me so now I call them first. Their estimate was accurate. The folks from the office communicated well, calling a couple of times to tell me when they would be here. The two men who did the work were knowledgeable (I has been doing this for 20 years), thorough and cleaned up after themselves. They arrived almost an hour earlier than estimated and were done in just five hours. I'm very pleased with my new fence.

The fencing was good, but a whole section blew down less than a year after installation. It should've lasted more than a year. We should have gotten a better installation from New York State Fence Co. for the money we paid.

New York State Fence Co. did a good, professional job. If anyone wishes to hire them, they will receive good work. The fencing is good quality, and the installation was done well. They were recommended to me, and I am glad I hired them.
