No star wasn’t a permissible rating unfortunately, which is why I gave them 1. Slomin’s operates by bullying their customers to stay with them. I had a key fob that broke and in order to replace it they were going to charge a fee which they waived because they tricked us into a 12 month contract. Then more equipment of theirs stopped working, leaving my elderly mother’s home vulnerable to break in and the earliest they can come is 2 weeks out and they are charging $90/hour for them to fix their faulty equipment. I was very upset by the lack of protection and the time to resolve, as well as the excessive cost. I expressed it many times and all I was offered was yet another contract to waive the fee. They constantly keep trying to rope you in to keeping their service via contacts. I told them I wish to cancel and was told that the cancellation fee would be $107.82 and that someone would call me from the “cancellation department”. No one called and when I called them, I was told that the cancellation fee would now be $226.87. They seem to keep increasing my cancellation fee arbitrarily as another attempt to keep me as a customer. They told me I need to pay for July to October, despite me cancelling in July. I asked them to prorate the few weeks in July and they refused. The customer service is horrific. No one tries to help until you actually call to cancel. I’m looking for a rational person to prorate my usage and then charge me the $107.82 for ending my contract early. All Carla Reise did was combat me and insist she would not even consider it.

I’ve been a Slomins customer for over 5 years now. I called 04/29/23 and I reside on Long Island since I had no heat or hot water. They said they didn’t have anyone until 05/01/23. I said I had elderly people in my home and this was an issue. The customer service rep was professional but they couldn’t contact a supervisor since they leave at 6pm on weekends. This is unprofessional and idiotic service. I see why there are so many negative reviews. Horrible way to do business with loyal and paying customers. My contact ends in October and that will be it with Slomins.

Absolutely horrible service. They are scam artists.had 4 delivers of oil every time they did not supply correct amount that they tried to bill for.never use this service save yourself alot of money by smart oil tanker reader. Total thieves save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all cost. Already filed a complaint with bbb. THIS IS THE MOST UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY I HAVE EVER DELT WITH.avoid them at all cost. You tell them they are not giving you the correct amount they tell you to put a complaint in to nys weight and measurement. Recommend anyone who deals with this company to get a oil tank reader and watch how much they are scamming you. They delivered twice while oil was leaking all over the ground so obvious a blind person can see. Never said one word. Biggest pos company out there

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY ***BEWARE*** this company is scamming people. They’re trying to say I got 3 delivers in the past 2 months equaling over 1600$ My first delivery was in June 2022 and they filled my tank only costing around 800. I got my second delivery the beginning of December filling my tank squalling around 850$ than a third delivery on January 20 equaling around 260$… why is this company now saying there was a fourth delivery on January 2nd for over 500$. My house barely uses oil so how would I have a full tank within a month in a half. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST. I received a receipt in my mail box every delivery why wasn’t there one on January 2 because they are trying to scam people. If anyone else had this problem please email me at [email protected] . I already filed a complaint with the BBB and now I am obtaining a lawyer.

Second time this has happened within a span of 2 months. Ran out of oil this evening, a projected delivery of oil was supposed to have happened yesterday. Bills were paid for, no outstanding balances. House is now freezing without hot water, pipes will be freezing with potential structural damage. When I called the customer service department, I was met with the most unprofessional and rude representative named Kayla. She informed me that they do not deliver on weekends, but offered zero explanations as to why a projected date happened on the weekend. She also stated that the company do not have the capability to have emergency service technician to come and give me an oil delivery because "all the calls are full tonight." This is the same type of excuse I received several weeks ago with the same issues, this company is a bunch of scam artists and frankly I cannot fathom how this company is able to stay in business. I will be terminating this contract as early as I can because they are disgusting, rude, unprofessional, and criminal in their behavior as a commercial company. Frankly, putting the public health into endangerment.

Was warned not to sign with this company. Should have listened. Knew I would be switching to gas so didn't care. Had just moved in. < 1/8 tank left. Rep came over and assured me I'd get a delivery "after the holiday." 2 weeks later I'm on the phone asking where my oil is. Any company rep ignored me when I brought up only wanting 1/2 a tank. Got a full tank. Fast forward 6 months. More than 1/2 tank of oil, maybe 3/4 left, summer months and all. Regardless, definitely did NOT need a delivery. Without my knowledge, delivery guy came and topped off the tank. Company said the contract I signed was for "automatic delivery" and a call ahead wasn't part of the process. Really? Other companies I have contracts with call ahead of their arrival. Oh, and my friend gets a free service contract with her oil company. Slomin's will charge me after my first year is up. Can't wait for the gas conversion to be complete!

Slomins are a bunch of thieves. Now that heating oil prices have begun to go down "coincidentally" Slomins decides to do a delivery of oil in the middle of August with 80-90 degree heat. Last year I didn't receive my first oil delivery until November. What a coincidence that I get an oil delivery 4 months early when oil is >5 bucks a gallon and it comes as late as possible when it's locked in for 2.50 a gallon. They are garbage and I'd never use them for anything. I hope they feel good ripping off people when it's been a battering of price increases for everyday Americans. Truly they make me sick to my stomach at their disgusting greed. Trash all of them.

Please please do not sign a contract with them. Pleaseee they schedule a tune up for my parents home 4 months in advance. Finally came did the job and at night (14 degrees) my parents 2 elders and a dog were felt with no heat. When I called to have someone come in they told me they can’t have anyone come out bc they had too much work. The best they could do was next day!!! I asked what should I do or if they pay for hotels the manager said no we don’t. I asked if in good conscience he felt this was ok at any level he said. “We are not denying you the service we are just not going there tonight”.... please do not hire them

when install alarm did very poor job. now I am moving and there what to charge me 2000 to break the contract .when there install the alarm there use most of the equipment from previous company very nasty people in there customer service there laughed at me and said that the where it is

Alarm is down again. They have been to the house 8 times in under 2 years. Alarm goes out almost once a month and a tech takes over a week to come out. I reached out to them on Twitter and they blocked me.

So our alarm has been offline for months and they are finally getting around to fixing it. We called because the app was not working. They kept saying that the alarm was all right. I looked up how to run a test, and the alarm has been offline for months. Slomin's does not monitor if your alarm is online. I also asked about when we called to send a test why they did not call back, and he said well we tried. They noticed the alarm was offline and did nothing. They also refused to give us credit for the time that the alarm was offline. Stay away.

Slomin's does the heat. I have a contract with them if I need repairs. I pay one fee for all the services with them throughout the year. They deliver the heating oil automatically; I don't ever have to call them. They somehow keep track of what I use and then they come and deliver it. Any repairs that need to be done are covered, if I'm not getting heat or something goes bad, or a circulator or a pump or something, and their response is excellent. They do everything with heating and then I also use them for my home security. They monitor my security. If it goes off, the alarm, they contact the police and call me. They gave me a very good price. I met with the salesman and he took good care of it.

I don't know if they do other things; I don't know if they do air conditioning, but they definitely do heating and they do alarms.  They probably do air conditioning too; I just don't know it.  The gentleman was very nice.  As for quality, they seem fine to me.  They showed up right on time.  Their professionalism was very good - no problems.  I don't really know too much about them, but they show up on time to deliver the oil, no problems.  Their customer service is courteous and their prices are fair.
