LAB DESIGN ASSOCIATES

So I was recommended to Lab Design, and in particular Robert, by my contractors.  They had used him previously to build their house and had raved about his work. Impressed by their comments, I hired Robert to do a floor plan for my home renovation.  At the outset, Robert was very punctual, and came to the house, did all the measurements and we expected to see a finished product from him.  However this is where the story goes South.

After a few months of our initial meeting, I was under the impression that my contractors were in contact with Robert (they weren't), and they were working with him (they weren't). Once I realized this,  Long story short, both we (the home owners), and my contractors tried calling Robert over 20 times, and not once did he return a phone call.  When my contractor went to his office, one of his partners said he was away, and while they left him a message, he still never got back to my contractor. Needless to say, I have no idea how someone in a service industry could stay in business with professionalism like that.  My contractors were embarrassed since they recommended him, and definitely agreed they would never use him or recommend him again.

For anybody that might decide to use him, my advice is make sure that you have ways to reach him, other than phone or at his office, since he doesn't return calls, or answer messages at his office.  While I could tell he definitely knew what he was doing,  I surely would not recommend him based on his lack of professionalism.

The person I dealt with Robert LaBarbera. I told him what I wanted as the whole house is being redone. He designed the whole house, gave me the blue prints and also has to go down to get the permits. He worked with the different ideas that I had and he would let me know if something didn't work.
