Gold Star Plumbing

I would honestly give this company negative stars if I could. We had them install a complete central heating & ac unit with ductwork. Ever since, we've had non-stop issues with heating where it just wouldn't get hot. We've called them so many times, and every time they come, they blame our boiler and give us ridiculous quotes to replace or fix it. It's been less than a year and we've had nothing but problems. The first time, the boiler wasn't firing, and they said it couldn't be fixed due to its age and gave us a quote for a brand new one for thousands of dollars. I called another company, and for $170, they just cleaned it and it's been working perfectly ever since. Recently, after they replaced a Nest unit, our heat hasn't been working properly again, and they told us we needed to replace the boiler, as the size was too small to heat our home. Another quote for many thousands of dollars. We called another company to take a look at the boiler, and they had to manually turn on the relay on the boiler, since the Nest unit wasn't sending the signal to it. Since manually keeping the relay on (a temporary fix), our home has been nice and toasty. Since we didn't want the relay manually on all the time, we asked Gold Star to come fix the Nest issue, and they told us they can't work on our unit anymore, since, to directly quote "another company has now worked on your system". I don't know what else to do with this company. All they ever do is blame our poor boiler. Our 20+ year old boiler is working better than our brand new Gold Star central air system.

Tye did a thorough diagnostic of my AC system even though he isolated the problem in the first 5 minutes of the visit. He explained everything he was seeing in plain English and what my options were. There was clear pride in his work at every turn and I heartily recommend him for any job. 10/10!

They charged me 149 just to show up. They didn’t have the part. Had to come the next day. Estimate to replace a 38 dollar part with about 30 min labor over 680 dollars. I told them the price was too high. Then the they bartered with me and asked me what I wanted to pay and called the owner. We settled at 480 which was still a complete ripoff. They had me against the wall with the service call charge. So I couldn't walk away. Thief’s!

Dealt with Mr Rodriguez - was very polite - knowledgeable - he took the time to explain my problem and the options i had . Completed the work today - was very satisfied with both the price and work - And he and his partner were very neat and cleaned up after they were done !

Issac and Matt both came to home within an hour of me calling. They do not play games like other plumbers because they do not charge a fee just to come to house. They come for free, check out the work and provide three options to complete the work. I got texted before they came with a live link to track their arrival and a profile with the plumber coming to the house. They worked within my budget to address the issue and had it cleaned within minutes. Overall great guys, great service and fantastic results.

I have used Gold Star for several years and they have always done a thorough and professional job. Davin Jones, service tech, came to my house last time and was very professional and courteous. He did an outstanding job in fixing a few leaks in one of my bathrooms. He even offered to clean the bathroom after the work was completed. I highly recommend this company for any plumbing related work. Great company and great staff!

Urgent, pleaee read!!!!!!    First I want to say that Bill Jackson is the only person that is here for me in all this nonsenses and cluster. Went the A/C unit die out, I was away, Florida, on work duties, my wife call me and told me that the air condition wasn't working, the house got very hot,  and the fish tank lights were out because of hight temp, the Apex controller turn lights off if temp increases, I call the company with no answers, I immediately call Bill which he provided me with his personal phone number previously and he answer my phone call at 11:30pm, I felt useless not been there for my family, but Bill game me confidence and took the time to hear me out on my frustrations. He has take the time to go to my house on his own time to work on the assessment, to prep what it needs to be done, no like other that disappears like Brian that don't give you the respect as a paying customer that I deserve. I believe Bill has the qualities of been a great Manager, because he has responds to my needs and answers my phone call and most importantly he have the knowledge of the industry and integrity. I want to address this before what come next. Unfortunately Gold Start plumbing is not what you guys think, I hire them to come and fix my second floor air conditioning that runs the attic and second floor bedrooms, the a/c unit work for to long. They send a sales man and I saw Brian, I explained the situation to him, show him the house and locations, the unit were working for to long and not cooling both floor, the unit is 2 years old and 16 seers, so he told me that the duck work had to be redone also the air handeler to be relocated, I also ask him if unit was big enough, and he said that was fine, 3-1/2 tons. Well after, I consider hiring them do the other part of the house as well, the basement and 1 st floor, which I ender up doing, 4 tons 17 seers,  he game a price to fix the problem for upstairs and do the new installation for downstairs. They startd the project, I thought everything was going fine, there were a few upps along the install, not using the right fittings and not insulating few pipes,  job was completed on spring, I paid them in full, big mistake, weeks later we had a heat wave and right away I notice unit were  working for to long, 15 hour for the upstairs and 12 hours for the downstairs, so i call Brian and said to him that units were working for to long. He told me that system need to be seft adjusted, so I went with that. Now is August and i still have the same problem that i hire the company originally, units are working from 9 to 21 hours a day depending on the day, which is ridicule and no efficient. I have been complaining to company, Brian don't answer the phone calls, ignore my text. I fell that they took my money and run away, i call the company and Express my concerns and situation, I even spoke with Matt the owner, and he assure me that I will be take care off, when?, now the 1st floor unit shut off and display an error code L21 and then L29 So they send a new set of eyes to my house to inspect and assess the situation, Bill Johnson, which he is a great guy not like Brian, he answers my phone calls, knowledgeable on the field, respectful and great customer service. The result is, I need more distribution and more return to fix both of my problems, why this was not done from the beginning? I ask my self. I am tire of the company not doing and fixing my problem. And not doing the right thing. In all this I have a hobby, salt water reef aquarium, I have lose corals do to the inconsistency of the air conditioner. Because by the time I get home the temp on my tank rises to 81 °F which is to hight for the corals, My electric is off the roof and I also got solar panels and even like that is to much, I am very stressed, anoid, worry, unhappy, mad, angry, and so on. I can't express my feeling the way I want it because need to keep myself calm and polite. I want people to know my story. As today my situation has not been addressed, 08-07-18. I wouldn't recommend this company since they don't stand behind the work and don't have the proper staff. I want my situation to be fix please. Stop dragging your feet !!!!!!

Watch out! At Gold Star Service I think there are more ROBBERS than PLUMBERS! The serviceman was an excellent price negotiator and a well trained plumber and I am satisfied with his work. However, I agreed to pay the $3000, which I negotiated from the original quote of $3500, because I had an emergency where the second floor shower drain was leaking into the basement in a tenant’s apartment and my usual plumber was unavailable for over a week. Now I'm still trying to get over this nagging feeling that I was nicely robbed. The plumber arrived at my house at 10 am and left by 1 pm, with my payment check of $3000, meaning, I paid $1000 for each hour. I think Gold Star is a company for the very wealthy and for people with extreme emergencies, who don’t have a choice, and because, price-wise, they go straight for the jugular, I would not recommend it to anybody.
