Exterior Door ? Was not fit properly.    They came three times to adjust, but the locks still do not work properly.







Storm Door - They delivered and installed a door with the wrong color.  Upon complaint,. they came back with a door with the right color but the wrong size.







Doors were promised in six weeks.  Took about four months.  We kept calling to find out what was happening and they never answered our calls until the Better Business Bureau intervened on our behalf.







In the end, even the Better Business Bureau could not help us: Elegant Entries sent the Better Business Bureau  a letter inviting us to lie to the Internal Revenue Service in order to get Elegant Entries to finish the work.

I called and called and it was always a different excuse. We called at least 6 times and sometimes they wouldn't even call us back. I wanted to talk to the man's boss who sold these to me, but instead he had his secretary call me. I didn?t get the satisfaction I feel I deserved or the answers I needed. I would never order from them again.

Having looked everywhere for a front door I visited the showroom of Elegant Entries in Hicksville. There I met Patricia Redmond who was knowledgeable and very helpful without being pushy. She provided a lot of information about doors and unlike other places I could select the glass insert and have the outer and inner surfaces two different colors. There were before and after photos of jobs performed and she offered many ideas and suggestions. Originally I wanted to change the size and exterior look of the door opening and Pat provided a lot of information on how that impacts on the over all look with the style of the house and additional things I would have to consider, but would not have known. I did not purchase on the first visit and after more independent research I returned. Patricia specifically outlined, on the purchase order exactly what I was getting and the costs. There was a 12 week wait on delivery, which turned out to be much shorter and worked well with a scheduled renovation of the outer surface of the house. The installer arrived and removed the old door and re-framed with installation. He was neat and pleasant and left everything clean.

Wanted to purchase black front doors. Told that I could not get a guarantee for black doors, so I ordered red ones. Was told that the inside would be white. When doors arrived they were red on the inside too, which looked horrible in my entrance foyer. Called for help, gave the name of the salesperson, and stated that I was told the door would be white on the inside. Was told that it would cost considerably extra, and that I should have read the contract better. Told to hire a painter. They did not deny the misrepresentation by salesperson. Doors have two glass side panels. One shattered on a hot day. Was told that glass is not guaranteed and my gardner probably did it. On both occasions, I got nothing but attitude, after being told by the salesman that I was paying a higher price for excellence. What a crock. I could have saved about $3000, a lot of aggravation and received higher quality merchandise, with a guarantee and without unbelievable nastiness. BEWARE.
