Unified Home Remodeling

Price was fair , windows arrived late due to covid back ups which we understood. But the grill inserts were the incorrect size. Unified came back twice to fix, neither time did they have the correct size. Then they said they would send a Pella rep to compete the fix. Well the person they sent was not from Pella. Windows great, install fine, service worse than lousy.

Paid in full in March and windows have yet to be completely installed on August 26th. What they have done has been very poor quality. Their employees have attitudes and they do very bad work. I've been trying to speak with a manager since Thursday and today is Wednesday of the following week and no one has called me back. Beware and don't use Unified Windows, they don't do good work... Terrible service after they take your money....

The Unified team were great. We replaced every window in our 1939 home replaced with Unified vinyl windows. They installed all 29 windows in one day. The windows are a huge upgrade and they look great. There is one small issue with one of the windows but they are coming back to fix it and have been very responsive and helpful. I would definitely recommend them. We had a quote from Anderson Renewal and it was 4x the quote from Unified for an almost identical product. We got some windows in with the triple pain for certain locations that lose/gain more cold/heat and they are definitely worth the upgrade for strategic locations.

Work once started went extremely well. Had major problems with sales staff and Unified scheduling. Outside contractor, who actually did the work was excellent.

Scheduling was ridiculous, took over 3 months for install, the slider arrived broken, they came back in 4 weeks and installed during a snow storm. They did a horrible job, I still feel drafts and in the summer bugs crawl through my window. Cheap vinyl windows, you get what you pay for

Overall it went very well. The sales consultant that came to my house, Tom, was very professional and honest. He happened to visit while right before and right after I had a new window installed by another company. He immediately praised the work done by the other company and even said that I had gotten a good price for everything. While most people would have tried to get me to move the business and say how much better their product is, Tom did not. Instead he told me that I chose a solid company and was receiving a fair price. His goal was to earn my business for my new entry door; and he did via his honest and professionalism. He was very conscious of my budget and what I was looking for. He helped me select a door that I loved and was comfortable with my budget. After I finalized everything with Tom, the owner of the company who handled my windows swung by to inspect the work his company had done since he had been on vacation. He looked at some other windows for me and he asked about the door, since he had quoted me as well. When I told him that I selected Unified and the price I was paying, he told me that it was a good selection. He wished he could have done the business for the door, but their selections did not work with my budget. He was actually happy I selected Unified because I had considered going to Lowes or Home Depot, buying the door, and hiring someone to install it. Using Unified was the smarter choice as their prices include the labor and, being an authorized dealer, I do not have to worry if anything goes wrong since the products are backed by a warranty and the company cannot say they cut corners etc. The installation went perfectly. There were periods were I was nervous seeing how the door was being installed and the gaps I had seen. The installation team was very efficient and could sense my anxiety. They told me not to worry as the job was still in progress. When they were done, everything fit perfectly. All the gaps I had seen were no longer, and they cleaned up after themselves. The only negative I had, which prevents me from giving them an A, was the communication. My grade is a B+ but it only allows me to give whole letters. When the door was measured, I was told to give the company 4-5 weeks to get everything together before installation. Reality is it is more like 6-8 weeks. I felt I was calling over to them checking up on timing rather than them calling me to let me know. True, this was due to the wrong time table being given to me, but I was still checking in more with them than I have with other companies. They still get a B+ as the pricing and quality were excellent.

The salesman Bob was extremely helpful since I wanted the new door and the storm door to be the same color and this was hard to find with some products.  He checked with the main office and called the salespeople also. Every question I had he answered or found out the answer for me. He recommended a storm door that had a sliding screen on the top, and while I was doubtful at first, it has turned out to be the best thing!  The installers were very professional and came back to adjust one storm door which wasn't closing properly.  The price was high because of the quality of the products I ordered.

Three different crews performed the work on my house on three separate days: one for the doors, one for the windows, and one for the siding.  All three crews were polite, professional and on-time. They all performed high-quality work in record time.  The door job took about two hours and  the windows one hour.  The siding job, though, was the most impressive.  John and his crew arrived at 7:30 am and worked straight through until 7:30 pm with just one short lunch break.  In that time they removed all the old siding and insulation and installed new insulation, siding and trim.  They also installed new outside lights that we had purchased as well as new house numbers and a new mailbox.  At the end of the day they cleaned up the entire property so well that virtually nothing was left but a few flakes of the old styrofoam insulation.  From beginning to end, working with Unified was a very positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use the company again or to recommend them to anyone in search of a door, window or siding contractor.

They did an excellent job measuring and making adjustments to the windows and doors.  They were so efficient that I hired them again.  The doors are top notch- wonderful and tight, with no air coming in. They did a good job.  The technicians were prompt, knowledgeable, and excellent.

We were very pleased with the quality of the windows and the professionalism and skill of the installer. The windows were basic, hopper style vinyl replacement windows. They replaced 50 year-old original wood windows which were well past their useful life. The installer did a terrific and very efficient job. It has now been close to a year since the job was completed and we have had no problems. The only blemish on the entire experience was a somewhat overly optimistic estimate by our salesperson on when the windows would be in. He was off by several weeks. Even with this, we are very satisfied and would use them again.

It went excellent. Joe the sales person is great. he is professional and always there to answer your questions. People that came to install the door were professional as well. they came on time and were professional about the work. There was no mess left after they were done with the installation.

The installation went just fine and the price was much better than the competition, although the window doesn't quite look as nice as my neighbors'. I think I understand why now (ours is four panels and his is five), but at the time of making the decision what to do, I didn't quite understand what the end result would look like. In hindsight I should have just insisted we make it look like the neighbors'. But, overall, we're pretty happy with the window and my dog enjoys sitting in it and watching the world go by.

There was a problem (a defect) with the window (OK, you're gonna wanna know what the problem was: my wife wanted the windows with the blinds inside the panes of glass. they are great, but one of the blinds did not work [apparently, they are controlled by magnets]. anyway, it took a very long time for the replacement window [the entire window panel required replacing to fix the magnet] to arrive, and it also took some time for my wife to navigate through the voicemail procedure to finally speak to someone and get the service department to come out and diagnose the problem. This was not horrible, but we had just spent a nice piece of change on the window and it was disappointing that there was ANY kind of issue - and - that getting it rectified took much more effort on our part than having the salesman (who was really a good representative for this company) come to our home in the first place did, if you know what I mean.

I would also like to add that whenever we did have interaction with this company (I am talking about actual humans now), everyone we dealt with was pleasant and professional. It just took some perseverance in getting ahold of a human, especially the customer service dept. But, alas, that is the way it is in 2014. I don't much care for having to scan and bag my groceries either, now that you got me on the subject. But I digress and wish you all well.

I first sat with a sales person in 2012.  I was not impressed with this gentleman at all.  He had no samples with him and did not appear to be interested. 
We decided to give Unifi another chance and asked for a different sales person to come out.  He was more responsive before the actual project started, but we only heard from him once when the project was almost complete and that was because he wanted to pick up the money owed.  
The scheduling office called me to set the date and time but neglected to tell me that a shipment of supplies would be dropped off the day before the start date.  We were not happy.   The guys showed up and began the project.  The foreman and team were very professional.  they worked through rain and sleet, on Sunday and finally finished 99% of the project on Christmas Eve.  
We are happy with the completed project, but honestly, although the price was very good, I am not sure that I would use them again.
