They were terrific! We encountered unexpected problems along the way, and they were flexible in dealing with the changes. They were friendly and courteous. Wayne was very assertive and professional in sticking up for me when my co-op board was being difficult about some of the unexpected work. I would certainly recommend these guys and/or hire them again.
Description of Work: I hired Wayne and his team (John and Charlie) to repair my kitchen after it was damaged due to a plumbing backup. They removed all the cabinets and appliances, took out the laminate floor and underlayment, removed wet and moldy subfloor, removed the custom baseboard moldings, and then installed new subfloors, concrete backer board, ceramic tile flooring, re-installed my cabinets (plus one new one b/c the sink cabinet had been moldy), trimmed down my molding to adjust it to the height of the new floor so it would match the rest of the apartment and reinstalled that, and put back in my appliances. John even came back weeks later to hook up my sink and dishwasher after my new countertop got installed (a separate issue).

Horribly. They are the worst of the worst, cliche bad contractors. Run in the other direction. Look at the image to see the lawsuits against this business. Do not let these people anywhere near your home.
Description of Work: Large home renovation: kitchen, master bath, floors and plenty of other work.

Description of Work: The contractor was to correct damage incurred in an apartment and kitchen due to flooding. They presented a very professional contract and quoted me around 12,000 dollars for the work. when we contacted him the day of the flood, he said he would send some one over to check out the work. This in fact was not someone representing the contractor , but his brother who then attempted to get 4,000 dollars from us as the go between us and our insurance company. As the work progressed, I was concerned, but was hoping they would correct the damages. Everything escalated when the owner wanted just about final payment and everything I have stated below was still incomplete. My balance was nothing compared to the amount of work his company needed to finish. I would never recommend them to anyone. I will be gladly paying close to $4,000.00 to another contractor to redo and correct RH Contracting mess!

Hiring this company was the worst decision we have ever made. From beginning to end this job was a fiasco: questionable billing practices, inexperienced crew, not enough men on the job most of the time, messy, disorganized and the quality of most of the work was "shoddy" (architect's words). But all of that was the least of it. These guys obviously had no idea how to take a roof off and keep the house dry. We had flood after flood after flood. My children were soaked in their beds during one of them. Calling them in the middle of the night to come deal with water coming in became a normal occurrence. All this resulted in lots of extra construction just to fix the walls and ceilings that were damaged. We were roofless to one degree or another for four months. A framing company should have been called in to get this done quickly after the second or third or even the fourth flooding but, we assume, the owner didn't want to spend the money. We had to make two insurance claims and will be filing a complaint with Westchester County. A total nightmare. Steer clear.
Description of Work: Major home and backyard renovation: 2nd floor addition/renovation with roof removal, built large deck and patio, some paving and rock retaining wall.

They came into my house and didn't even look at the hole in the roof, but demanded a $500 deposit (which I gave to them). They came with very basic supplies and did not have all of the tools necessary to complete the job. I had to lend them various tools and fuel since they did not have them. After they put on the patch, they demanded an additional $2,250. I have not paid the bill and they are now threatening legal action. The bill is way too high and I have turned the bill over to my home owner's insurance. I do not want other people to go through the same experience I did. Their workmanship was extremely poor and needed to be redone by another contractor.
Description of Work: A tree fell on my house and put a large hole in the roof. I called them to

They were great! From the day I first contacted him for an estimate, Roy Howard was prompt, responsive and professional. Every detail and question was confirmed in writing within 24 hours. He shopped with me for items ?to be supplied by owner,? and he and his staff gave consistently good advice. If I changed my mind on an issue (which I did), or added in something else (which I also did), RH Contracting rolled with it. They continued to give fair prices on my changes/additions (no soaking of the captive customer with high change-order fees!!), and continued to be prompt in scheduling and completing the next step. Staff members Tom, Paul and Chris were all a pleasure to work with -- friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Each type of work (tile repair, painting, custom cabinetry, lighting, plumbing) was done skillfully and each time the place was left in spotless condition. The job was completed on time and on budget. In addition, even after all fees were already paid in full, RH Contracting responded within 24 hours when I asked them to stop by and check out the water-flow from my new sink (it was a design ?feature? of my new faucets, which Tom quickly diagnosed and fixed).
Description of Work: repair tile and grout; install new lighting; paint walls and ceiling; install new sink, stone countertop and faucets into a custom-built vanity cabinet built to our design specifications
