We have been a customer since we built our house in 1974 (and went with them since my parents had used them since 1962), and have stayed with them through inertia. They have let us run out of oil 4 times in 6 years (but not for the last 2. We had oil tank problems a couple of years ago. They replaced the tank right away, but left the old one blocking our garage for a couple of weeks. Their billing department is a shambles, and last week they sent us a registered letter informing us that we had to sign for a $78 (not big bucks, but) annual charge for insurance to cover any tank leakage. The current tank is new, and there was no mention on this "official" letter that the coverage was optional. We opted out, but they didn't want to mention that option. Really dishonest, sleazy company.

I have been a customer with Burke for almost 30 years. Back in May I scheduled my annual cleaning for three properties for today June 15th between 8-12. I make myself available to provide access to the homes. When no one showed up by 10 I called and was told my appts were for the afternoon. I said no, they were for the morning. They checked and said yes but they were changed yesterday to the afternoon. They said I was called. That is a lie. I received no calls, emails, or texts aside from a confirmation email two days ago. This company does not value your time. Find another one who does. Beware.

Thank You, Burke Energy and your terrific Air Conditioning Team. After our 30-year old AC system started to fail, we met with Michael from Sales who arrived right on time and did an excellent and thorough job of providing us with various options from repair to full replacement. Given the age of the system, we decided to go with the replacement. With this July being one of the hottest months in a long time, Jessica from Scheduling did her best to get us a date as soon as possible and scheduled the team for early arrival to minimize the hot weather conditions in the attic. The AC Team of Rob, Anthony and Jay arrived promptly at 7:30 am, and quickly got to work removing our old equipment and installing the new system. Rob and Anthony worked in the sweltering attic while Jay worked on the compressor in the blazing heat outside. Rob, as team leader, did an excellent job, kept us informed on the team’s progress, and answered our many questions. Despite the unbearable heat, the team kept at it and finished the whole job in one day. They each told us their goal was to get us air conditioning so we wouldn’t have to suffer through the rest of the week of soaring temperatures. Needless to say, we are extremely happy with the way the whole process went and the end result is fantastic. And thanks again to Rob, Anthony and Jay! All in all our experience with Burke Energy was terrific, and reaffirms why we have been Burke clients for over 40 years!

Their price ceiling means they have contractual right to reach to the ceiling regardless of average market price. I had been their customer for 4 years with annual contracts. They always maxed their price for the last two months toward the end of contractual year. Last year and this year, my price was $3.60 when the market price was $2.50. Watch out. But I appreciate they delivered the heating oil without fail.

If possible to give zero or better yet negative stars I would. Burke it the worst out there!! Customer service is horrible once you sign up prices go through the roof they charge as close to the cap as they can, today I scheduled my final delivery and they are charging over $3.50 a gallon pretty much double what everyone else is at. Oil prices fluctuate to an extent as does Burke's deliveries, when prices are high they seem to be at your residence constantly you never get below half a tank but when prices are down they are still high with Burke but you will be under a 1/4 tank hoping they deliver before your sucking up sediment. Now on to service, I signed up for around $100 a year and was told the price increases slightly (roughly 5%) a year just to keep up with the cost of doing business. That's crap as well, with in 4 years I was paying almost $500 a year for service contracts with no notification of the astronomical increases is was just slipped into my bill, not to mention everything they touched on my boiler in the past year wad screwed up royally. I went from no heat to heat not shutting off to my livingroom thermostat controlling my basement and my basement controlling my bedrooms. Hey at least they were kind enough to try to sell me a whole new heating system as opposed to just admitting they messed up and correcting the problem. Please whatever you do please do not use Burke they are horrible rude price gougers who only care about how much money they can suck out of you they make every excuse as to why they are overcharging you and pretty much seem to hope you autopay so you don't realize how hard they are screwing you. I truly can't imagine a company being any worse if you love your sanity family and wallet AVOID BURKE AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!

Mario was extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough. He didn't leave until the whole heat system was checked and performing perfectly. He even cleaned the sight glass for the water level upon inspection. He had the best Honeywell thermostat in stock in his truck. It was a weekday night and he arrived 30 minutes from my call and was tracked his entire route to my home online. I have a service contract and fuel oil delivery contract with Burke Energy for almost 50 years.

We used Burke for a few years and it started off well but it quickly went downhill. We decided to leave Burke for one main reason - incapable of fixing furnace issues. One winter, we had to call them back 8 times and although each technician assured us the fix would “do the trick” a few days later the furnace would experience issues. It was a nightmare. After deciding to leave Burke, we called them to cancel our contract but even after doing that, they continued to deliver oil and charged us. Calling them to get a refund was useless. They wanted nothing to do with the discussion and in some cases the discussion went really unprofessional. Really poor experience with them. Better alternatives out there.

The window I was given for the technician to arrive was between 9 and 11 am. He arrived at 9:15. I took him down to the basement, where he worked on the furnace and did the repair, courteously letting himself in and out of the house as needed. At 10:00 am, the repair was complete... with a replaced expansion tank, pressure valve, 2 air vents, boiler gauges... An approx $700 repair at zero cost to me (because of the service contract)! I highly recommend Burke Energy as a service provider. They are responsive, courteous, and a pleasure to work with!
