It went great! He has done literally dozens of jobs around our house for the past 7 years!
He has done a great job on every one, including: Painting; Adding chari-rails; fixing walls; replacing floor saddles; Deck work, tile and grouting; kitchen work; and our list goes on and on..
He is professional, responsive, and thorough.

BUYER BEWARE!
Bid said the job would take 12 days - it took almost 12 weeks! Renee's excuse was that a bid, "is only an estimation."
Renee also did some sloppy/shoddy work (uneven tiling, missing/unclean grout) and even changed the color of a ceiling (using leftover paint from aother job and hoping we wouldn't notice.)
We wound up hiring another worker to complete the installation, reovation and painting.
I wish someone had warned me. If this quality and operation is OK with you, use him.

"The client has made several points I would like to address. * Scope of work increased immediately upon starting the job. The extras ordered by client impacted the completion time. * Well into project client changed tile choice for the kitchen back-splash : 4-6 weeks. to CLEAR CUSTOMS and delivery to site. *Several Blizzards delayed delivery of cabinets coming from Ohio. * Job site was visited often: All details were addressed, the painting was 100% finished. There was no missing grout. *The issue of having to hire another to complete the installation relates to a building code. Electrical inspector would not pass inspection unless I eliminated an end wall and a cabinet as it blocked the electrical panel. This was discussed and complied with, and the final inspection passed. My policy is not to violate building codes; if client hired another to replace those items, it was done after the building permit was closed."

Rene is a great guy, and while not exactly cheap, certainly worth the expense. He's honest, reliable and very pleasant to deal with. He will start doing some interior work in the near future and I'm sure it will be as good an experience.

Rene is a pleasure to work with. First, he is honest. I have no problem giving him a house key when he may need to access the house to do repairs while I am out. Second, his pricing is very fair. He will give estimates and sticks to them, and I have found that his pricing is better than others. In particular with respect to the house painting, I had received an estimate of almost double his price from a large painting company, and his work was excellent. No one in our house is particularly handy, so it is great to have someone I can call for a variety of odd jobs that we are unable to manage on our own, as well as some larger ones like the exterior repairs and painting.

We recommend Rene Alfani and "Fix This NOW, Inc." very, very highly! We are very picky - and even we believe that he's a real find! Rene does great work, plus he is responsive, fair in pricing, and professional in the way he approaches and consults with us as clients.
If there is something that is not Rene's expertise, he recommends or subcontracts to get it done. When we needed major work done on our hardwood floors, he subcontracted with experts, scheduled and supervised the work. We emerged delighted with the service and the very high quality of the work.
Most importantly, Renen delivers! He do es what he says he will do, when he says he will do it, and with reliable quality. We have enjoyed Rene's services for years. We recommend Rene Alfani and "Fix This NOW, Inc." very, very highly. He's a real find!

renee is supurb. he is very thoughtful and diagnoses problems quickly, insightfully and will the most efficient and cost effective solution in mind. renee is extremely neat, punctual, reliable and always calls with thoughts, advice and if any delay is to occur the reasons therefor. i highly recommend renee and cannot think of any other handyman i have worked with in over 30 years in westchester that is even remotely as good. he is also a first class person and never overcharges. a gem!!
