On May 22, 2015 Erica from Water World Irrigation came to open up our sprinkler system for the spring.    

We took the advice of Stefan, the owner, last year to leave the expansion tank in the pit in for the winter. (Our previous sprinkler contractor always took it out).  Initially Erica was trying to reinstall the tank after removing it and could not.  She had a very hard time doing so.  At one point we asked her if the tank was installed, and she replied no.  She asked us if we wanted it in, and we told her yes because we need it for noise reduction.  That was why it was installed in the first place.  She was going to leave it out if we didn't say anything.  Eventually she was able to reinstall it, but it took her about a half hour to do so.  Meanwhile, we were being billed for all of this time. 

Upon relocating a rotary head, Erica nicked the line with a shovel and had to repair it.  We were actually billed for this, even though it was her error.  She was here for a total of three and a half hours for which we were billed.  The amount of work that was done in this time should not have taken so long.  She had great difficulty with everything she did. The total for this work was $403.00.  We would think after all this the system would have been checked completely and running perfectly. Unfortunately, it was not. 

We called them and left  messages on June 8 and 9 after we saw that numerous mist heads on zone 2  were not popping up. We never received a return call.  Erica and another technician showed up unannounced on June 10.  It turns out these  heads were not adjusted properly, causing many of them not to pop up.  They were on full circle when they should have been on half circle..  They were left that way by Erica on the spring start-up. (We did not know there was a problem with these heads because the system was running at night.  It is fortunate we decided to run it early evening otherwise we would not have known until our trees died).  Also, one rotary head had to be adjusted and one replaced, and the drip system had to be repaired.  The system was checked thoroughly this time.  All of this was done by the other technician in a very noticeably short time compared to Erica.  Again, all of this should have been done on the initial spring start-up and service check.  Yet, we are being billed for additional hours and a second service call in the amount of $105.00. 

On June 14 we received the second bill of $105.00 .  The very next day we received a statement that we were past due.  This company did not even allow us to review the bills before sending us a statement that we were past due.  After we received and reviewed  the two bills totaling $508.00, we called and left another message on June 15 asking to discuss them.  We also drew up a letter addressed to Stefan explaining what happened.  We faxed it to them that day and then sent it via US Mail.  We called again on June 18 to discuss the letter and the bills.  Again, we had to leave another message.  No one picks up the phone there or calls you back.  We have not received any correspondence of any kind from them.  We are trying to work it out.  We have given them numerous opportunities to contact us and they have not.  We are not asking for a lot.  We just want to be billed fairly for the work that was done.  The first service call was three and a half hours, which is an excessive amount of time for what was done, especially since the system wasn't even properly checked and adjusted in that time.  A customer should not have to pay for a worker's inability to handle the job.

THE NEW SPRINKLER SYSTEM WORKS GREAT. IT IS SET ON A AUTOMATED SYSTEM AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. WHEN THE WORKERS INSTALLED THE SYSTEM THEY MADE SURE TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING IN DETAIL WITH ME!
