Next Generation Appliance Repair

The company sent a technician--Carl--to fix our refrigerator. The total charge was just under $550 but our receipt showed a 90-day warranty for parts and labor. Within 60 days the refrigerator was broken again. We called the company back and was told that they just "bought the service number" and were not responsible for work done by prior technicians and they would not honor our warranty. So we are out the money, still have a broken fridge, and this company is a dishonest scam.

This past Sunday (1 month after the original repair), the temperature in the fridge was back to 60-65 degrees. On monday at 9am, I spoke with a company representative who made an appointment for 12-2pm the same day to check out the issue. Since that 9am conversation, there has been no contact from the company - nobody showed up for the appointment, Noone called back, I left 3 messages yesterday and another 3 today, and still nothing, complete silence. Terrible customer service and very unprofessional.

I have a service contract on my appliances. Service provided schedule these crooks to come and service my range. They came said part would take a week to come in. One month later. No returned phone calls and no service provided. Finally gave a lame excuse that they are low on man power and can no longer fix my range. Pathetic service. Pathetic company. Stay away

They looked at it, said that it was going to need a new part. I paid them $1,000, and have never heard from them again. They took my money, and messed my fridge up. I am having to have another company fix their mess up.

The technician unplugged it and then plugged it in and he said it just needed to be unplugged to reboot the computer... He said that since he didn't do a "repair", he needed to charge me the full$95 for a service call, and he couldn't apply the $23 coupon advertised on the website, or give us a senior citizen discount. He was here for 5 minutes. I thought that was very dishonest of him.

Carl removed what he claimed was a broken ice maker, promising to return within 5-7 business days. My husband gave him a check for $500 toward a $900 bill. He required cash or a check because "the credit card machine is down." Eight unreturned calls later (and three weeks later) by chance he answered his phone (with no explanation why he had not returned increasingly desperate calls from us), told us to leave the refrigerator off for 2 days so that he could complete the work. Four days with no operating refrigerator and after our repeatedly calling, my daughter called from her home phone, leaving the message that she needed a stove repair. Carl returned her call instantly. She then asked him what game he was playing with her parents and he hung up on her. It took a visit from me to the local police and a call from an officer to finally get a cashier's check for a $350 refund against the $500 we had given him, the rest deducted for the service call. Clearly he should have returned the entire amount. Carl Pentarich is a total scam artist.

He said his credit card unit was not working so he wanted cash or a check. Gave him a check which cleared the same day. 24 hours later no improvement I called Carl he said it must be a part and he would come with the part in 2 days. He showed up left and still no cold refrigerator. I called him no reply after 3 texts and phone calls. So I am out $579. And was on the phone for some else to come do the repair work. I live in Sagaponack NY this was just a blatant case of criminal fraud and theft I found out to late this sort of thing happens all summer long. I will be filing a small claims case against him but I'm not stupid enough to think that getting a judgement against him will do me any good. I also do not think he is licensed in NY. So I hope this will be a warning to others in the hamptons of his con work

The refrigerator , after he left made the same type of noise. After a call he said, it hast work it's way out. Returned for another visit and said it was something else and charged another fee.same problem. We have called twice since, no response.

I called Carl and he answered right away and came over within the hour.  Parts were ordered and he was here the very next day.  I have used Carl before and always found him to be professional and very accommodating.  The last time Carl came over was because the ice maker and water was not working on the Kenmore refrigerator.  I am embarrassed to say that it was because I had the lock on.  I was only charged for the visit.  Try to find another appliance repairman that wouldn't try to take advantage of that situation. The time before that I needed a part that was burnt out because of Hurricane Sandy.  Carl is a very honest and knowledgeable repairman.  I  highly recommend Carl and will continue to use his services whenever I need them.  

Everything was fine for about a week and then the "new" relay board malfunctioned.  I am afraid this has become a fire hazard.  I have tried and tried to call Carl, but he doesn't answer my calls or return my voice mails.  I am very dissatisfied with his customer service.  I do not want him back in my home.  I just want my money back!  Before Carl came out, I could still use the burners on the top of the stove, but after his work, the entire stove is useless.  Nothing works now.

We gave Next Generation Appliance Repair a deposit of $200 and they never did the work and haven't returned the deposit. They gave us an estimate for the repair, and they never came back. My husband kept calling and calling. He got hold of one gentleman, the owner, and he said the guy that worked for him took off. I would neither use them again nor recommend them. There is a note dated 08/16/12 that a full refund will be paid today. The next note is dated 08/21 and left a message that there was no check, and he contacted them again in September 12. My husband was going through Consumer Affairs.

I could send to LG to support their diagnosis so that I could apply for a replacement--but that didn't happen, despite my three requests.    Don't let this happen to you!
