This is my letter to the BBB. I kind of worked. See update at the end. A tree hit my house. The business was hired to fix. The job for the most part is good. Just some detail work needs to be fixed. When one of the workers stepped through the ceiling I showed the owner and said that we wanted a sliding door right there anyway so you don't have to fix it yet if you would like to put the door in. We verbally agreed to wait and he would put door in. When he came to get final payment on tree damage repair I said I didn't know if I wanted to do the door because we were thinking of moving. I knew not to pay in full as I told him of some needed detail work to be fixed but I felt bad that I am now putting him on hold. So I paid him in full with good faith he would come back to fix the detail. We are now staying in house and we have had a hard time meeting up with the owner. We started to get going on the door with the owner but long lags in communication with the door and the fixing of some detail work yet to be done we decided to not have the business do the door. We just want this fixed it has been over a month since we have last heard from the business. And it has been over 5 months since I paid in full. I still have all the text messages between us if needed. I am very understanding and did NOT want to do this. I believe the owner when he has told me of some personal emergencies. I just have wanted from the beginning to be updated regularly as to when he was coming back. That is all. Tell me when you are coming and when you are not. I feel lost because I paid in full with good faith. Update: August 8, 2016..- It is now over a year and the job is not complete. I made the mistake of paying Jeff from Jeff's Remodeling in full for the 1st project. He was supposed to come back for a 2nd project so I paid in good faith that when he came back for the 2nd project he would fix some things from the 1st project that were not complete. That's when I got put to the back of the schedule time after time. I would get one reason or another as to why he didn't make it when he was supposed to come. That was if I was lucky because usually my text messages to him got unanswered. I contacted the BBB in January and guess what....... I am still waiting for the fixes to be fixed. Oh he did show up and do some work but again week after week I would not hear from him. It is now August 8 months after contacting BBB and over a year since he started. The work is not finished. Paying a business in full for work not completed was a lesson we all have heard in the past. I just didn't think it would happen to me. I was and still am being taken for a fool.
