We are TJ McAllister and “The Fair Price Guys.” We've been part of the Hamburg community our whole lives. TJ grew up and continues to live in Hamburg giving us a personal connection with most of our customers. McAllister Plumbing, Heating & Cooling has been servicing the Southtowns for over 50 years. Today McAllister’s is still operated with the fundamentals of a family business. We provide 24/7 Emergency Service and installations for plumbing, heating and air-conditioning equipment. We really care about our customers and it shows. Our company values are part of our culture. When entering the McAllister office a bulletin board of Praise is full with thank you letters from our customers. "The Fair Price Guys" is not simply a name for our Web site but our philosophy on customer service. McAllister’s steady growth is due mainly to customer’s word of mouth advertising. McAllister’s even goes the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. McAlister has done a great job for me. They did work on the furnace and A/C over the last 6 months when I was out of state. Beverly does a fantastic job in the office scheduling and communicating findings and costs and getting the job done quickly, especially in the winter with no heat. When we had to repair the A/C we were able to save $1,000 by pumping the refrigerant down into the condenser instead of evacuating it into a container and having the system recharged. Beverly explained the risks and potential benefits and the process worked as we had no leaks in the system. Jeff rebuilt a plate to sit in the coil housing to hold the coil - he then reran braised the lines and engaged the system. Total cost $560. On the furnace McAlister came out 3 times to check on the furnace shutting down - after the third call they determined that the secondary heat exchanger was cracked causing the unit to overheat and shut down. TJ was great - he said it was their fault for not identifying the cause sooner (one time they found ice and snow in the intake and thought that was the primary cause of the shut downs - a reasonable assumption) and discounted the work on the repair. He was also able to get the part under warranty so all I paid was labor. They also had to replace some insulation and that was back ordered so they came out twice to do the same job and didn’t charge me a visit fee on the second visit. While we waited for the heat exchanger to arrive TJ had Jeff go to the house and check to make sure the caulk they used on the unit as a stop gap measure was holding as I wasn’t home and didn’t charge me for that visit as well. Total cost $950. The staff is always available in the office, the techs are well trained, trustworthy (we had them in the house with no one home and gave them the garage code) and leave the area perfectly clean when they are done while doing great work. I gave them an A on price not because they are the cheapest - they truly do quote you a “fair” price for great work which is what you want. I will only use them for all my heating, cooling and plumbing needs.

Another local plumbing company recently installed a replacement hot water heater, but we noticed the first night that it was leaking. They came the next day and repaired the leak, but we noticed that the hot water level was very inconsistent throughout the house. Installer was back two more times, but couldn't, identify the problem. In frustration, we called McAllister, who recently did a great job installing a replacement furnace. The plumber from McAllister arrived right on time, was personable, and proceeded in an informed, methodical manner to identify and fix the problem (open valve on a recirculating loop). Problem fixed. Charges were reasonable. As with our furnace replacement, service from McAllister was outstanding. They are the only contractor we would consider calling in the future.

The blockage was very deep...where the kitchen outflow met the main line. Chris not only cleared the blockage in a timely manner, he also explained its most probable cause, and offered suggestions as to how the situation could be avoided in the future. Once finished, he tested his work twice, once before and once after cleanup. I felt very secure that the job was done correctly once he left.

The various guys that were there were all great and very professional. We had the old cast drains inside the house removed and replaced with PVC; as well as all of the water lines replaced with pex. We had a sink that was draining into the basement (because the pipe was cracked) and a bathtub that wouldn't drain at all. We also had little to no water pressure from the lovely county replacing the water main and flushing it into the house. They went above and beyond my expectations, everything runs great and my water pressure is amazing now. They even fixed the leak I had before the water meter and hooked up my other hose connection.
A few days later my 3 year old dropped something into the vent pipe outside that goes to the street. The man came within a few hours and snaked it for me. He was very nice and gave me a lot of pointers on what to do with my old house.

My furnace motor was checked and furnace cleaned and inspected by McAllisters, the motor would kick out on high speed for the air conditioning cycle. I was not certain if this would affect the lower speeds for heating which it did not, but I wanted the furnace serviced before winter. They never did find anything wrong with the motor and neither did I. But after I replaced the motor, high speed was functioning fine on the air conditioner cycle. They did perform the rest of the the work in a clean and neat fashion the technician was friendly and called me several times at work to verify what he was doing. My wife was home and could not answer his questions. The biggest problem I have is they are approximately 5 miles away and still charge a $37.00 travel fee which I can understand outside of a certain distance.

After trying to clear kitchen sink clog it became apparent that the problem was more extensive. Half the cellar is finished so it took a little while to locate cellar cleanout. Used snake from there all the way to the main and finally succeeded in clearing the whole length of piping. Tech was very persistent and determined to complete the job in a timely manner. Pete was conscientious and informative. Great customer service from initial phone call to completion of service call.
