I couldn't believe the amazing service that I receive from Handy Home Medic. I highly suggest you hire this man to do your inspections. He was honest and super helpful for a first time home buyer!

Josh was prompt and thorough. He communicated with me well and kept me posted on the his progress to completion of the job. He did a complete job of inspecting the property which at first blush look like it was newly remodeled and move in ready. Unfortunately it was not. Josh uncovered many defects that had not been repaired and could have been. Also he found some water issue in the basement and an electrical hazard in the attic. His inspection told me that this was not the property I thought it was and I rescinded my offer.

Handy Home Medic was very thorough and very professional. I've had previous home inspections that weren't nearly as thorough and he made everything very easy to understand.

We are very pleased with our recent experience working with Handy Home Medic. After our initial request for an estimate to remove two built-in wall cubbies and replace with drywall from upstairs bedrooms, Josh contacted us within two days. He was prompt, courteous, and provided a fair estimate for the project. He was always honest and up front about cost, and provided many helpful suggestions as the project went on. We liked his work so much that our small project led to larger projects, revamping two of our old bedrooms into bright, modern spaces, as well as a partial renovation of our stairwell. Each day, any mess that was created was cleaned up, and work was completed at a steady pace. After having poor experiences with several other contractors and service providers in the past, Josh was a breath of fresh air! We plan on working with him again in the near future.

Josh is one of the best contractors I have ever used.  He is extremely thorough and is great with communication (something many contractors are terrible with).  He also provides a very thorough estimate and explanation of all the work to be performed, and executes it exactly as he explains. He does a great job of giving you different options, and always keeps the customer in-mind. He is extremely conscientious and even works around your schedule.  The price was reasonable for the work performed, but when you add in the quality of the work, the quality of the service and the overall project, you'd think you got a steal- there are not many contractors that I have used that have such great attention to detail and care so much about their craft.  I look forward to hiring Josh again in the future!

Handy home medic saved me from another contractor that left me high and dry / DIY project gone wrong. Josh came within a timely manor to give me an estimate for the replacement and repair of drywall in 2 bedrooms and the basement. He took the time to explain everything he will do and the time frame it will take. He answered all my questions and seemed like he finished the project in no time. After the drywall was finished he helped me pick out paint colors based on the carpet I had bought for the room and had it all primed and painted before my carpet installers came! I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Handy Home Medic will be my go to for all home projects!

Our home was built in 1923 so with old homes there are always obstacles and Handy Home Medic didn't miss a beat!!  Joshua Collins was so detailed and thorough throughout the entire service.  I would highly recommend contacting Handy Home Medic before making any decisions on your home remodeling project.  He was on time, professional AND gave me some options that my husband and I never would have thought about.  He was flexible with our schedule and allowed me to change a few things as we went!  I will absolutely be calling Handy Home Medic for my next home remodeling project!

I can't speak highly enough about Josh. From the get-go, he has been fantastic. Called me right away, came over to look at the floor, and had an installation date set all within one week. I had gone to Lowes first and they quoted me $1500 for just a sheet vinyl install, and I would have had to do the subfloor prep myself. For the same price, Josh took care of all the work AND installed new slate tile, not sheet vinyl.

Anytime day or night Josh is available to talk or answer questions. He really makes you feel as though you are his only customer. He's my go-to person from now on.

I believe Joshua Collins, owner of Handy Home Medic,  ended my years-long search for a highly qualified, innovative and honest home repair and remodeling contractor.  He tackled a complicated and frustrating problem with ingenuity and confidence.  He investigated and obtained the necessary permits.  He repeatedly requested I inspect and evaluate the work in progress, making it clear customer satisfaction is a top priority for him   Another highly rated Angies List contractor left me hanging for months after I accepted his estimate. I have requested Mr. Collins complete several more home projects for me, using his in-depth knowlege to guide me in the planning and material purchasing.

Called Josh from Handy Home Medic because my sump pump just kept constantly running but wouldn't actually drain the water from the well.  Once he saw the sump pump he felt something wasn't quite right with it.  It wasn't sitting right in the well so he took it out and there was a ton of debris in the base of pump that was blocking the intake.  He was able to take the sump apart and clear it all out but there were some rocks stuck in there that completely cracked the bottom of the base.  He told me at this point for the amount of water that was filing up in my well in such a short time investing in a new sump pump was the best idea.  At this point I was completely fine with that because the sump pump had been there since before I bought my house 6 years ago and my basement does get wet so i'd rather have something reliable.  He was able to install a new sump pump, found some huge landscaping rocks in the bottom of the well that the previous house owner was using to hold the old sump steady that shouldn't have been in there and cleared them out and replaced the old, decayed, rubber drainage pipe that carried the water outside of the house.  The new sump was super quiet and drained the well super quick.  While Josh was there I was complaining about how my basement had been getting wet and I had all these different contractors and plumbers come and look and once I finally decided on a course of action it didn't completely take care of the pooling water in my basement.  Upon some inspection he found that the drain that my gutters and my sump drained into was completely back flowing each time water was emptied into it causing it to run down the foundation wall and right back into my basement.  He said more than likely the pipe it drains into which was clay was cracked and collapsed from my driveway heaving against it this winter and the previous winters.  So he set up a new, temporary drainage system to re-route the water away from my house until the weather is a little better and he can put it in a better spot and since then my basement has been completely dry despite the rain and melting snow. My basement has never been dry since I moved into that house.

I bought a new refrigerator and didn't account for the large oak cabinet that was hanging above my previous refrigerator and my new refrigerator would not fit under it.  I called Josh from Handy Home Medic to see if he could take a look at the cabinet and recommend a course of action as far as taking it down or making it fit within the space above my new refrigerator.  He was able to accommodate my schedule and come right away so that I didn't have to keep my refrigerator sitting in the middle of my small kitchen. Once there he told me that keeping the cabinet there would not be a problem at all and he would be able to trim my cabinet to fit the smaller space.  I was very worried about losing storage space and the cabinet sitting too close to the top of my refrigerator but he did a wonderful job.  He was able to trim some of the cabinet down without losing any storage space and he was able adjust the doors so that it still looked proportional.  He was even able to adjust the crown moulding so that it still looked great above the cabinet.  After he finished the project my refrigerator fit with enough space between the top of it and the bottom of the cabinet and it truly looked like it had never been worked on to begin with!  He also noticed right before moving the refrigerator back into place that the water line that had been there for quite some time was kinked so he took the time to replace that with a braided steel water line.

The porcelain are perfect and in a beautiful offset pattern. The kitchen cabinet's fit perfect and he added a dishwasher that I always wanted. I will hire Handy Home Medic first before anyone else.
