Unfortunately, they took months to come, did not communicate , did about half of what was promised, and did many things WRONG. Lack of OVERSITE. COMMUNICATION, AND TIMELINESS. It was quite clear that the manager either did not come to see that things were done the right way, or did not write down what we discussed so could not communicate it to the workers. The long time between the sales discussion and the execution really was a HUGE factor here. I'm sure much was forgotten and even if the manager got the workers started he no longer remembered what we talked about.
There were no significant weather issues to account for the months that passed before they started the work. Many phone calls and finally a date that of course coincided to my vacation out of the country. My sister stayed at my house while they were here.
They came one day, did not knock on the door or engage her in anyway. She saw them doing some of the clean up and thought all was going fine with the list I gave her. She expected someone would come to say they were leaving, we'll be back tomorrow and are you happy? ....something. But they just left without engaging her at all. She thought they would come back the next day as much of the list was not done. Nope.
I returned at the end of the week and found that they did a good job cleaning up some of the beds in front. They left a shallow pit in the yard that was just seeded and the bushes they took out are growing back. A ring of mounded dirt was put outside my front door in an area that was just supposed to be cleaned back, so now careful navigation is required if you come to the front door to not step in dirt. I would think anyone would realize this was not right. The raised side porch where the bed was supposed to go did not get anything. WRONG porch.
My house overlooks a lake. There are 2 lilac bushes, one very large blocking the sunset view. I asked that be trimmed. They did a lovely job trimming the WRONG bush. Up against the house were overgrown burning bush with thorns making it hard to clean windows - wanted them removed. They neatly trimmed them. WRONG treatment.
There are too many things that were discussed and NOT DONE- cutting back a raised bed to turn to lawn, taking out a stacked wall and putting gravel down for pots, cleaning up the huge raised bed in the back, trimming back the side of the house, hauling away broken old fountain bits, broken old and pavers. They did take away the trimmings.
I called twice when I got home to sort this out and got no call back. I held back paying them thinking they would at least call - nope. I eventually just paid them off to be done with it .
