Rich showed up on time and ready to go for the inspection. He was great to deal with and had excellent knowledge of what he was doing. He was thorough and very informative during the inspection taking time with explanations and minor vs major issues. He also provided insight to certain code standards which I was not aware of being from out of state. Overall if I was to look to purchase another home or for any future inspections I will use Rich at North Shore Home Inspection services.

Rich arrived at my home on time and  spent 3 hours going through every part of home with me.  During the inspection, he kindly explained to me each problem he discovered.   He is a very thorough and a real professional. He photographed each problem area and later incorporated these photos in his report.  A day later, as promised he emailed me a detailed report (PDF file) of his inspection,and the termite inspection and told me to call him any time if I had any questions about my home. Bottom line is, Rich is knows what he is doing and is a great guy.   Based on my experience with him, I can recommend him strongly to anyone who is buying or selling a home.

The inspection went well the inspector took his time . He inspected from the roof to the basement, the inside and outside of the home.The home was also inspected for termites. He was on time, had all the tools he needed. He answered all questions and concerns we had. He was such a warm and friendly person, it was a pleasure doing business with this company. I highly would recommend him to everyone.

We recently needed a home inspection for a house we were buying in the area and can't say enough kind words for Rich Toscano. Extremely professional and patient, Rich needed to schedule a return trip due to snow on decks and roofs, and showed up when he promised, was thorough, and gave us a very detailed inspection report. He took many photos of things that may need attention or just evidence that he examined everything.
Rich returned each of our calls or emails promptly and explained in even greater detail those things we might have questions about. He may or may not tell you, but he is also a master electrician who knows his was around the wiring and electrical panel in a house like its a second language.
If we ever need to go through this process again, we wouldn't think of using anyone else. And will certainly refer anyone we meet to Rich and North Shore Home Inspection

Rich is a personable, professional home inspector. We used him 3 different times for home inspections (yes, we went through a lot of homes before purchasing the final one that Rich also inspected). Rich is calm, takes his time, does a thorough job, and does it all in a way that is very courteous and professional. I enjoyed walking around with Rich through the homes and asking questions as we would go, which he would answer happily and honestly. His termite guy is great too. The only thing that Rich missed on our current home's inspection was the condition of the chimney on the inside, but overall our experiences with him have been great. I highly recommend him.

Rich showed up early and started on the exterior.  He did a thorough job and even inspected some accessory buildings that were not supposed to be part of the deal, for no additional cost.  The finished report was received very quickly.  Even 2 months after the inspection, during the mortgage process, Rich was there to help me  with documents and answers, even after hours.

Could NOT have gone better. This is an older home, so Rich really took his time to go over everything with a fine toothed comb, had lots of insight for us above and beyond just the basic inspection. He let us know what issues we really should address right away, and even perhaps negotiate with the seller. He gave plenty of objective pointers and things to expect. He was very patient with all of our questions, and pointed out things that i think many other inspectors would probably ignore, not notice, or gloss over. Rich was a real pleasure to work with, the guy is extremely knowledgeable (he's a master electrician to boot) and offered very even keeled input throughout the processs. Highly. highly recommend him!

Richard was really awesome. He is very professional and a pleasure to talk to. He arrived earlier than the appointment and actually started the inspection. However he explained and went over everything he did. As I shadowed him during the rest of the inspection he continued to explain what he was looking for, and the signs and symptoms of possible problems. He took his time even as the realtor was trying to rush him through. It took a little over three hours. The reason I chose him was because of the reviews he received on Angie's List and they are well deserved.

He was very thorough, produced a 100 page report. It took him about 3 1/2 hours, and he inspected everything in the home. His inspection was a factor in our decision not to purchase the house.

After checking multiple reviews and speaking wiith other home inspectors I decided to use Richard at North Shore home inspections. He was able to inspect the house on two days notice and was arrived promptly. I also reviewed inspection reports from friends who used other inspection companies.

He was inspecting a small 2 bedroom, 1 bath house with a basement, attic and detached garage. He was very thorough, took his time, and did not rush or take any shortcuts. For example, even though I said I was planning to gut renovate the bathroom, he still took his time to make sure he inspected and documented everything. If it were me, I would have just moved on to the next room figuring it is a moot issue. He spent close to 4 hours total and answered all questions my wife and I had.

For a home inspection I recommend walking next to the inspector (without any RE agents next to you) the entire time you can ask questions and he can talk through what he finds. Often, the SOP for home inspectors is pretty rigid as far as they can only comment on what is actually visible. By walking and asking questions, you can get a better idea.

Very fair price and I will be using him again.

The service was good. He was thorough, he went through everything step by step, and he took his time. He was good. I did not pay any additional amount.He came out the same day that I bought the big deal, or the next day.

Thorough, thorough, thorough. Wow, this guy knows his stuff and was very pleasant to work with. He explained things clearly and concisely without getting frustrated. WELL worth the price and will continue to use for future home purchases. Highly recommended.

We were able to schedule the inspection within two weeks of initial contact; would have been sooner if I had not had travel conflicts.  Mr Toscano was punctual and very professional. He performed the exterior inspection first, circling around the house about three times, taking pictures and explaining his findings as we went around, close to an hour. Then we went inside--he had brought booties out of consideration for the home owners. The interior inspection was also very thorough. Mr Toscano is a master electrician so his evaluation of the electrical system was especially thorough. I am confident that he found whatever was needed in the way of repairs and code compliance. To top it off, I had his written report the day after the inspection!

I used Rich twice. He is extremely thorough-three hours!-and a full report within two days. If there's a problem, he WILL find it. Home inspectors are not inexpensive, so get someone who will go over your potential buy with a fine tooth comb. Great work.

Richard spent 2 1/2 hours inspecting our ranch house, including everything from foundation to roof.   He pointed out features
that could be updated as well as items that should be fixed, giving us a priority list.  Within a week, we had a printed hard copy
of his report, complete with color photos and all details.    He was professional and thorough, a very good investment..
