We just closed on our first house in Glendale, Queens.  Maura and her team made the experience as smooth as anyone could ask for.   We approached Maura at the suggestion of a Realtor in Queens.  We had approached several banks--including our own, and a national mortgage chain--you know the one, whose name rhymes with "mending bee."   All of these lending institutions would not commit to their fees up-front.  None of these lending institutions would give us a straight answer--We were applying for a FHA loan, and they all claimed the government regulations/paperwork/nonsense was prohibiting them all from committing anything definite in writing unless we signed up and paid the inspection fee.  Really.  So much for gov't "fair mortgage" regulations.   Maura was up-front and honest with her fees, and even though they were slightly higher than what we were quoted by the others, it all came out for our benefit in the end.   We looked at the property on March 27th and closed the deal on April 29th.  Yes, really.  Even with Easter and Passover in the middle.   We will be looking to speak with her again in about a year for a home-equity home-improvement loan.  We would recommend her in a "new york minute!"  ;]

Another mortgage company kept me in the dark forever. I thought I would not be able to close on my new house because they would not approve my mortgage. At the last moment (about 3 weeks before closing) I contacted Maura Basileo, Senior Loan Officer. She was great. She told me exactly what pile of financial documents I needed to give her, and then guided me thru the mortgage approval process. She avoided delays, never letting the ball drop. She was a pleasure to deal with. She is on Long Island and the house is in Westchester, but that was not a problem.
