Kitchens Porches & More

In June 2010, we hired Kitchens Porches and More for an addition on our home that was supposed to take four months to complete.  We moved out of the house while the work was in progress with the understanding that we would be able to return by November 1.  That was important because we were staying in a seasonal camp where the water must be shut off and the pipes drained during the winter months.  We moved back on November 4 and lived with the construction in progress for another four months before the contractor abandoned the project.  When they quit, there were still no appliances in the kitchen, there was work left to be completed in the basement and on the screened porch and back entrance porch and there was no siding on the house.

Soon after the contractor abandoned the project, we were informed that our new siding had been at the local lumber yard since the previous October.  We had paid the contractor for those materials and they had been ordered but not paid for.  Now we would have to pay for them again before we could complete the siding on the house.

A full year after we signed the contract with Kitchens Porches and More, the project is still not close to completion.  We are making arrangements with another contractor to install the siding and complete the screened porch and back entrance porch.  We also have to make repairs to eliminate the leaks in our new roof.  We have already spent thousands of dollars to complete the inside work and will have to spend several thousands more to complete the outside work.
