My regular plumber canceled on me for 4 consecutive days. This morning I called Kew-Forest Plumbing and they gave me an appt. right away for the afternoon. They arrived on time, immediately found the issue and changed the pipes. They were very curtious and professional. They were in and out in 30 minuets. Their rate is a little higher but well worth it. I now have a new plumbing company I will use going forward.

They replaced broken piping under the kitchen sink & cleared the drain.  Then I asked them to look at my toilet flushometer in the bathroom because it was flushing slow and I thought I might need a replacement.  They said no, they could just replace the inside valve that controls it.
They did that, tried to adjusted it and left.  The charge for that day was $462.  The flushometer still wasn't working right so I called them back and told them I might just need a new one.  They came that day, adjusted the valve again for about 5 minutes and charged me another $212.

OF TIME.

Very Well. Carried out as promised.
All of our parish dealings with Kew Forest have been exemplary. Correspondence before making repairs included a comprehensive assessment of the problem and recommendations for repair needed. Each time Paul or Steve from Kew Forest Plumbing were contacted, their response has always been professional and communicated with a sense that whatever needs to be done will be in our best interest--monetarily speaking--and well as effective in carrying out the job.

A year ago, post Hurricane Sandy, I would have given rave reviews to Kew Forest Plumbing. I was eager to get a new boiler and water heater installed and didn't want to wait for Rapid Repairs so I spent the $8000 for a and quot;reputableand quot; licensed plumber to have
it done. I was so happy with the speed and ease of the process that I had them come back to re-run my gas lines for another $3000.
A short time after the installation, I noticed a smell of gas coming from around the water heater area. Called them. They showed up (same technicians who did installation) and said they did not detect any gas smell. In trying to convince me there was no leak, they sprayed their detector. I saw it bubble. and quot; No, no, that's not bubbling. It's just the foam dripping down.and quot; So, to make me feel better, they tightened the pipes. I stood there as the technician called the office to let them know that there wasn't a leak and I just smelled the boiler turning on. Wouldn't you know it, though? After pretending to tighten the pipes, I never smelled gas again.
The job was supposed to be filed with DOB and never was. I also called them to supply me with the pressure test results to forward to the gas company so I could add an additional meter and my phone calls were not returned. I doubt they ever ran the test.
Anyway, fast forward to last weekend when the boiler cut out. The office is closed on weekends so I left a message on the emergency voicemail. A technician called back but informed me that I would be charged and he really didn't feel like schlepping allll the way out to Rockaway anyway (not in those words). Since I don't believe that I should pay a penny to repair a less-than-year-old boiler and I worried about getting reimbursed, I chose to wait until Monday.
It's now Tuesday and they are saying that they can't get over to the house until Wednesday.
They were the only ones who had boilers handy after the storm a year ago and were able to install immediately. As happy as I was then, do you know what I think now?
I think they sold me a faulty boiler.

Used them again by accident (notes to myself said don't use again - I guess for notes to be any good, you need to read them). They repaired same valve that was repaired in Dec 2009, but were glad to charge again for the work. Have to say that they are very responsive but kind of leave that used car salesman aftertaste.

I have used them in the past and they are very good. My in-laws also used to use them so I have never had a problem with them. Their staff demeanor is fine and they are very professional. I use another plumber now that I have a personal relationship with but there was nothing wrong with Kew-Forest. We probably used them for about 10 years. Their prices were on the high side but we could always count on them and their work was very good. It was not a problem at the time. They took care of my in-laws furnace every year and also did some repairs to broken pipes. A pipe broke at my house when we first moved in so that fixed that as well as some other things. They were very good, close to where we live and very professional. I have never had a complaint.

They sent two men over within the hour to begin the repair. They were there for quite some time as the old brass fitting presented some challenges but they were able to repair the pipe. The men were very professional and courteous and offered for some advice for future plumbing work. I was a little taken aback by the price...however it was for emergency plumbing repair so in hindsight it was not too bad.

I have to take them small claims court. They installed a boiler and they forgot to put a regulator on the boiler and the owner who came to sign the contract didn't want to honor you know make the boiler safe so I had to take a small claims court to get it resolve. Their reason was their guy they said to do the install said his father passed away and he had to go collect his father's ashes and now leave and you know it's a joke I would never use them again. We should remember it because when went to small claims court we should make the court and wait them to get the out of there because we agreed afterwards to get it resolve you know to small claims court so and it was the son not father. Like I said it was 10 years ago and I looked at their rating you know just recently they may have like a and ldquo;Band rdquo; rating so it looks like they've really change much.

I was out of town and was informed that my hot water heater was not working and there was water on the floor. I called Kew Forrest, supplied the model number, paid by credit cards and they replaced the water two hours later. First time using them.
