I didn't hesitate to write a very good review in 2011, and it was deserved.   By 2012, I found out that my first review was completely off and not what I thought anymore.  People change or may take you as granted.  I always check the reviews before hiring and I thought I have to update my opinion, so others won't get disappointed.  Pablo and his team, will not always deliver a good job; they did in 2011, and didn't at all in 2012.  
Pablo is a good painter butnot a plumber, yet he offered to my neighbor to let him investigate a leak, that was coming from the roof. His intervention caused a conflict in our coop building and between shareholders, my downstairs neighbor and me.  And he got it wrong the first time, and the second time, as the leak was not coming from my bathroom but the roof.  Pablo should stay away from leaks investigations, as he has zero qualification for.  
He was hired to repair the water damage (from roof leaks) in my apartment, and we negotiated a 7-day time frame, but he unfortunately didn't keep any of his promises.  A 7-day became a 13-day, increasing the cost of reimbursement, and interrupting my business.  Each day I went onsite to check the work progress, nobody was around to talk to and by 1:00PM they will leave to work somewhere else.  I still feel worked out when thinking about this and how poorly the work was performed.  I invited a contractor last year, to redo most of the work they did. 
I didn't appreciate not only the quality of the work, but a lack of honesty.  I paid for all the material, and then he requested to be paid in full, although we agreed about it.  I felt cheated and stupid as I had paid for everything: new tiles, painting, grouts, flooring, faucets, countertop, grout,..whatever he needed.   To top it all, he kept changing his estimate which caused a huge problem with the other shareholders and my own insurance.  When they finally finished, I found out later, behind a corner chair, splashes of yellow paint all over my mahogany baseboards in my living room, which I am guessing, they may have been used as their workstation and didn't care cleaning.  
At that time, I didn't share my bad experience with the rest of the building, because I had insisted to have him repair my place.  We were in a mist of hiring a contractor, to fix a structural problem in the bathroom downstairs.  He didn't call him to bid as it was a specialized job but he convinced my downstairs neighbor he can do it and for less.  Unfortunately, the work failed miserably and the problem worsened.  We had to call a structural engineer to assess the new situation.  Pablo should stay away from jobs he has not qualification for, no matter how tempting the monetary reward is.   

However, sometimes, success comes with a price.  Pablo was lately very busy and when I asked him if he is taking any time off, he said he wonders if he ever could.  Nevertheless, he is young and his commitment to his work will pay off.  Would I recommend him?  Yes, I highly recommend Bani Construction!!!  You will keep hiring him repeatedly.  Some Board Members were difficult in the beginning, but now, I have to wait that Pablo finishes their jobs to do mine.  Pablo and his team are very versatile.  They are smart, creative and doers.  So far, I can vet for his excellent skills in interior painting, plastering, cabinet making (for my neighbor), and remodeling bathrooms/kitchens.  Just call him and ask.   He is very honest and will tell you if he can or not and when.  Good luck! 

Pablo worked with me on the floorplan, took me to pick out cabinets and flooring, and made a lot of helpful design suggestions.  He and his men worked quickly and neatly, they made every effort to make the process as painless as possible.  They moved the fridge into the adjacent den and set up the microwave in there so we would have some sort of kitchen during the renovation process.  Except for a few minor issues, the entire renovation took only two weeks.  We couldn't be happier with it or with the crew.  As an example, I had purchased cafe curtains and rods and asked them to put up the rods for me.  When I walked back into the kitchen later, I found one of the men was actually hanging the curtains on the rods.  When I put a chair in a corner of the kitchen I couldn't find an appropriate table or bookcase to put next to it so Pablo built one for me that matched the style of the radiator cover he had also built.

They painted 2 bedrooms and did some decorative painting in one of the bedrooms. They hung all the doors because they weren?t closing properly. They switched one door from closing inside to closing outside. They redid the door frame and did some carpentry work for that. They did a fabulous job there. They were very polite and showed up to work on time. They did everything that I asked and I would use them in future.

I emailed Pablo a picture of a cabinet that was similar to what I wanted and told him the measurements, wood color, and details. He delivered the cabinet in a couple of weeks and it suits my needs perfectly.

Tenant's adult son seemed unable to shut the right half of the shower door, getting a lot of water on the bathroom floor which would seep down into 1st floor bathroom ceiling and wall. Pablo removed their sink vanity and found a couple of loose tiles which allowed the water to drain downstairs. He replaced them and then bolted the shower door into the wall and caulked it for good measure. There was also a lot of dripping from the tub faucets so Pablo tried repairing them but they were too old so he had to break into the tiled wall to put in a new shower body. He retiled the wall. He also repaired a sliding door in the basement.

He is very nice. Very professional, he gives quality work. I would definitely use him again if needed.
