Ernie did the work for me and it was not a quality job. I had 3 other masons look at it afterwards and they all said it was sloppy and each one pointed out things that were done incorrectly. The joints on the bluestone are sloppy and there is mortar on the face of the stones. One large bluestone didn't have mortar under it and Ernie had to remove it, re-mortar it and replace it. The mortar surrounding this stone sticks out like a sore thumb. He also installed 3 squares of cement sidewalk and he did not finish the surface to match the rest of the sidewalk which was right there in front of him. Ernie proved to be very unprofessional and extremely hot tempered. We called him back to show him what we were dissatisfied with and he remained silent for a while, then got all red in the face, started yelling and insulting me. He then jumped in his truck (which was parked in our driveway), peeled out, and took off down the street. A few days later I called the masonry supply company that recommended Ernie and gave them an earful. Then a few days later I again contacted Ernie and told him about a problem with water pooling on the step and that he had to fix it because it would affect my siding. He came over and repositioned the stone such that the water does pool but now the risers are uneven. I do not recommend him. He did a shoddy job. I am now out of pocket $7500 and I am looking to redo the work that he did.
