Will not use again

I live in a very old two story home (built in 1890). I hired Cohrs Contracting back in September of 2012 to replace some stairs and install new windows. Jerome the owner came to my home and made several suggestions after listening to what I wanted done. He worked with me on the budget that I had. I had them demo and install the new stairs. I did the sanding, staining and painting myself to save some money. His crew did a very good job. They took great care in their work. The demo work took little time and the work was completed in just a few days. They also replaced some siding on the back of the house that was poorly installed by the previous owner. They also installed some new windows to replace the old outdated ones. I have more to do which I plan to have replaced later this year. Again they did a very nice and quick job with them. I have been planning on remodeling my kitchen since day one of buying my home. I had a plan and designed it myself. I decided to use Cohrs Contracting again this month. I had a budget in mind. The first estimate was a bit high. I mentioned I would do some of the demo and all the painting and some other things. We agreed upon a final price and work went ahead. I was told it would take approximately two weeks. They stayed on schedule even when coming across small problems with the previous work by the past home owner. I decided to turn a pantry that was just off the kitchen, into a laundry room during the kitchen remodel. Jerome did work in here for just a small add on to the estimate mainly on parts (new wiring, plumbing). The kitchen was in need of a major upgrade. There was no counters space and only one cabinet. I had new soffit installed. They closed off a doorway which lead to my second floor. This is the stairs that I had replaced in September. They also go into the front entrance and the doorway to the kitchen was not needed. This enabled me to added even more cabinets. They replaced some of the dry wall and put in new manufactured wood flooring. Again I did some of the demo and all of the painting. Cohrs Contracting is a small company and they do use sub contractors for a few things. For example I had a custom counter top. The reason being was the counter tops from the big box stores usually don't quite fit correctly. Jerome uses a counter top company that come to your home and measure exactly to the kitchen so you get an exact fit with no gaps. The other nice thing about them is you can get Jerome on the phone quickly. He will take the time to come to your home at your convenience. He listens to your concerns. If there is something you don't like during the work and changes that you would like to make he will take the time to correct them. If you have a home remodel project I recommend them.
