R J Ritacco Painting Co
About us
We are a full service painting company offering high quality craftsmanship, and great attention to detail. In business since 1980, we serve Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, and also Fairfield County, CT. The most important step in a high quality paint job is in the preparation: plastering, taping, compounding, skim coating.... and washing surfaces prior to priming/ painting. We are experts in this area. We also do carpentry repairs, and other home improvement projects. On exteriors, we use both low, and high pressure cleaning methods to destroy mildew/mold, and remove loose, peeling paint. We use both LOW, and ZERO V.O.C.(Volatile Organic Compound) paints, and stains, which are healthier for the homeowner, and the environment. One brand is totally non-toxic, for those with chemical sensitivities. Along with my employees, I personally do the physical work on nearly all of my jobs. If there are any questions, or concerns, I am right there to answer them. I have a long list of satisfied, repeat customers, which is available upon request. We gladly offer free estimates, promptly, and in writing. Please call Bob at (914) 262-2474 to schedule an estimate..

"Thank you so much for the kind words. It was a pleasure working for you on your beautiful house! I hope you enjoy many years there."
Robert was at the job himself most of the time, and his crew was hard working, friendly, and professional. My wife and I appreciated that he employed several women, and they were definitely skilled at what they were doing.
There were a few tricky aspects of this job that Robert worked hard to get right. For instance, a log support pillar on the front porch had been repaired at its base because of rot and had been hand carved to match the contours of the original pillar. However the repair was made of pressure treated pine, and the rest of the pillar was deeply stained cedar. So not only was there no color on the repaired piece, but it was a completely different wood that would absorb stain differently. Robert experimented quite a bit to color match and I must say that he did very well with what was almost an impossible job of color matching. All in all I would highly recommend R.J. Ritacco painting-- they are friendly, easy to work with, attentive listeners to the customer, and skilled and efficient at what they do.
Note: I checked "N/A" for price because, frankly, we had a hard time finding anyone else who seemed like the right person so we did not have any other quoted prices for comparison. Even if we had, this kind of thing can be like comparing apples to oranges. I will say that given the amount of time, the type and quantities of materials, and the manpower it took, the price seemed very fair, but I am not knowledgeable enough to say that with certainty.
For a professional job well done, on time without mess or fuss, call Bob!
We could not be more satisfied with the work performed.
