Although Carmine is too busy and seems to be extremely committed to each one of his projects as they come up, he still took about 10 minutes to have a lovely, professional and informative conversation with me. He gave me amazing advice. I would definitely call him again in the future for another project!
Description of Work: I needed a few cosmetic things done in a small commercial space. Drywall, new flooring, painting, new tile work in bathroom, and a new wall put up.

It's easy to see why everyone raves about him---he is the consummate professional who really seems to invest himself in each project. I actually felt like I was taking too much of his time on the phone, but he was relaxed, informative and a pleasure to speak with. He asked for photos of the kitchen area so that he could get a better feel of what we're looking to do, which I have gladly provided. I know he's a busy guy--for good reason--and I hope to get to work with him on this project. You can not go wrong speaking to this man. Best contractor experience I have had. Thanks, Carmine!

+ -1 moreEverything went very well. They are not the cheapest but there also not the most expensive. You get great value for your money with this company. Unlike many contractors, they come every day until the work is complete because they're not running multiple jobs at a time. They were very good at describing and illustrating what the work would look like when it was finished. They managed their sub-contractors very well and they use high quality sub-contractors. Towards the end of the job I had a health issue and they were very supportive of my wife. They finished the job and were empathetic to our situation and completed the job without any extra stress. This review should have been provided when the provider did the work. I'm putting this in now because Mastercraft did an incredible job and they deserve the feedback and praise.
Description of Work: Mastercraft completely remodeled our kitchen, two full bathrooms, and a powder room.

Description of Work: My wife and I were looking to have our Kitchen cabinets either re-stained or refaced. Carmine returned my call promptly and explained that he did neither, He dealt mainly with putting in new cabinets and other large construction projects. He still was very helpful in recommending others that would fit our needs. If I were to do a complete kitchen restoration I would be delighted in using Mastercraft. So carmine thank you for forthrightness and professionalism.

+ 0 moreWe didn't hire him yet since he require an architect's plan to start the project. But he gave us a very sound advice.
Description of Work: I contacted Carmine, owner of Mastercraft Remodeling, last Jan 2016 to give us a free estimate of kitchen renovation and extension. Since we don't have any idea how to start this project, first thing Carmine asked me is if I have a written plan done by an architect, since this extension would require a permit. He spent a good 35-40 minutes explaining the process to me, very professional. At the end of the conversation, he advised me to hire an architect first to draw the plan, and then get in touch with him so he can give me a good faith estimate of the project. He also gave me some advise in picking up the brand of cabinets to use and where to go. Talking to Carmine gave me an idea how to deal with this kind of project. When I get my plan from the architect, I would definitely call him to sit down with us in person to get more of his ideas about this project.

Description of Work: I spoke with Carmine, and, not surprisingly, the company is booked for the next two months. I went over the details of my needs and he was most helpful, explaining things that I should be aware of when dealing with architects, plumbers and town inspectors, all the while knowing that he might not even be able to do the job for me. In other words, he generously and politely gave me his time and most helpful information.

+ -1 moreCarmine and Lou started by covering all the furniture and tenting the area to prevent dust from escaping the work area. The end of the day the area was swept clean. Carmine explained each step of the remodel and what to expect. He also helped us with vendors tile ,appliances etc. and with the other trades plumbing and electric. He helped my wife with what the new area would look like and made her part of the process. As a new part of the project was completed my wife would say " I LOVE IT ". We all would say it at the completion of each phase. Carmine and Lou were a pleasure to work with . They work like they are working on their own homes. They do it right the first time and stand by their work. We would recommend them for any phase of your home improvements .
Description of Work: Mastercraft , the owner Carmine and his carpenter Lou. They demoed our old kitchen and opened up our living room and dining room to a open concept living area. They had to put in a manufactured wood beam to replace a baring wall between kitchen and dining rooms. They re-sheetrocked the ceilings and walls in the kitchen and hallways. They put down a new tile floor{wood look]. that required a new underlayment of plywood , mud and wire and much leveling. This was done with lasers. It ran from the front door through half the house into the bathroom. . All the closet doors were changed to solid wood and new jams ,replacing metal jams. A new pantry closet area was made for a built in unit and a old linen closet was prepared for a new built in unit also. They changed all ceiling moldings to crown and replaced all the floor moldings and chair railings too. They made new saddles out of oak to traverse from the oak floors to the new tile kitchen floor and new stairs to our side door.

Description of Work: The first time he did the remodeling of whole kitchen and bathroom. He added a bathroom as well. He leveled the floor because it was uneven. He also redid laundry room. The second time he changed the whole heating system for us. We went from steam oil to gas. Another time he redid the master bathroom upstairs because we had a leak. He has also changed some windows.

Description of Work: The provider was extremely patient. However he declined to do the work perscribed stating that the fee for said work was out of my price range. He did offer a recommendation of another " handyman ' who might be interested oin taking on this job.

+ 3 moreThe service was great. Mitch was very professional and he really knew his stuff. He is an architect and the price was way better than anyone else. I have gone to the showroom to pick things out and everything has been great so far. He was very punctual and he seems really honest as well.
Description of Work: They gave an estimate for a handicap bathroom remodel. They have to go down to the studs as it is leaking and they are going to be putting in a vanity, toilet, and a roll-in shower. They will be doing the plumbing and heating as well.

+ 0 moreCarmine finished our house over a year ago. We just had a leak coming through our ceiling after a power washing. Called Carmine and he had his roofer here in an hour. Turned out the leak was unrelated to work he did on our house, but was an easy fix (caulk). Carmine's roofer fixed it for us in a flash anyway. Only paid for materials. Carmine and his crew are the absolute best.

+ -1 moreContacted Mastercraft in May and he told me that the next available appointment was August. I was ok with that, we were not in a rush. Meanwhile, I sent him pictures as he requested in June/July. Unfortunately, I get an email back that he is no longer able to keep his appointment in August and that I should contact him again in 2014. I see from other Angie list members that this is a trend with Mastercraft. He may be an excellent carpenter, but he was definitely a disappointment when it came to communication. I believe that if you make an appointment months in advance, you should honor that appointment. It was just an appointment; there was no obligation for him to start/perform the job.

During the entire discussion he was discussing methods that I could do personally to troubleshoot and identify if an issue existed. I found Carmine to be extremely helpful and during our entire discussion he did not try sell me anything. Just took the time to help us and provide guidance. Hopefully we do not have any issues in our home. If we do, Carmine and his company will be the first phone # that we dial. Customer Service and response time for this company are A++++.

Mr. Carmine made a very professional and honest impression and explained me a lot about how to prepare for the renovation of the apartment and what to ask other contractors to make sure the renovation will be a success although I told him I will use another company because of timing.

Description of Work: Carmine had done a full home remodel for us that ended in Sept 2012. As is normal, we found a few things that needed adjusting over the next few months, and they came back promptly around November and took care of it. They were fantastic as always.
