Rick and Lois did a complete home inspection at my request and provided information to help me prioritize the work I need done. They did a great job!

My Wife's grandfather's house was up for sale. She was strongly motivated to keep it in the family but I was concerned she was seeing it with rose colored glasses. The seller had prepared an inspection report which listed only minor repairs and my wife was pressuring me to buy the house - even though it was 91+ years old.
I called on Rick and Lois to do my own inspection and was I ever glad I did. Rick and Lois showed up on Saturday morning and gave the house a thorough top to bottom (attic to cellar) going over. They seemed more interested in uncovering all the details than how much time it was taking (over 2 hours) in contrast to some other inspectors I've dealt with. After their survey was completed, I was promised a report in several days (after they'd had time to compile it.)
I was expecting a couple of pages of recommendations - boy was I wrong! It was over 15 pages, including photos and detailed information behind each suggestion. The home would have been a money pit! Rick and Lois's candid advice not only saved us money (we wound up not buying the house) but also years of frustration as well.
As I've told friends, when you want an honest appraisal of the situation - go see Rick and Lois - they'll give it to you straight, not just something superficial or what you want to hear.
