He is unstable. We initially hired Josh Turner on 6/16/13 for mowing and landscaping services. He said the cost per mow would be $100. On 6/16/13, I gave him a check for $4300 to edge, mulch and trim our shrubs. We have historically paid much less for these services (Hyde Tech charged us cost of the mulch plus $300 for edging, mulching and trimming.) On 6/26/13, I sent him an email requesting an itemized bill for the $4,300 - what the mulch cost, labor costs, etc. I had decided that $4,300 was excessive ? hence the request for a breakdown of the charges. I re-iterated this request in a second email that day and again on 6/28/13. In each email, I requested that he complete the job. In a phone call, he responded that he charged $30 per man hour. That number is reflected on the invoice that I finally received. Repairing the brick walk On 6/26/13, I asked him to replace a number of broken bricks in our front and back pathways. He suggested re-doing both walks for $3,500. I responded: As I've now said several times, I do not want to re-do the brick walks. We have had them done three times and they always break apart. I'll find someone else to repair them or I'll do it myself. He responded: I can replace the bricks that are broken. That's fine. I was just referring to looks. To fix the bricks I will have to do the job then bill you because I do not know how long that will take. We never agreed to a price before he did the work other than his hourly costs and the costs of the bricks. He had told me that he charges $30 per hour--and invoiced me for that amount--and that the bricks cost $3 a piece. On 7/08/13, I gave him a check for $200; $100 for a mow and $100 for 30 bricks, which he said was the number that needed to be replaced and cost $30 a piece. His employee worked for 2.5 hours to replace 70 bricks ? we witnessed this work. I pre-paid him $100 for 30 bricks plus tax. I concluded that I owed him $205 and sent him and email to that effect. --40*$3 = $120 for the extra bricks --2.5*$30 for the three hours of labor = $75 --$10 estimated tax on remaining bricks He responded with the following email. I then decided not to pay him and locked all of our doors. ?It seems to me that you like to rip us landscapers off. I did the job. And you were happy with every thing up intl you got this bill. You can f*** Ur self you useless ritch b****. And take Ur useless f****** money and shove it directally up Ur a**. I busted my a** for you. Paid out of pocket for Ur bricks and also drove to Albany for them. Who paied for my time and gas for that. Not you. Cuz you just ripped my family off for Ur white trash self. I hope you feel much better now knowing you took from my kids mouths. You stupid c***.?
Description of Work: He mowed our lawn, trimmed our shrubs, edged and placed mulch. He repaired our brick walks.
