Darragh KIinane had done work for us serveral years ago, and we had been pleased with his work. We had some water damage to our kitchen ceiling, as a result of Hurricane Irene, and we used this experience to motivate us to renovate our kitchen. This included repairing the ceiling, removing wallpaper and repainting the kitchen. We also decided to do have a few minor jobs repainted as well (ceilings, driveway walls, metal railings.)
After getting waterproofing work done on the exterior (the source of the damaged ceiling), I called Darragh one evening, and he came out the following evening to inspect the work needed and provide an estimate. He promised to write up a proposal and email it the following day. The email arrived the following day, we accepted the proposal, and he told us he could start the following Monday. He told us the job could take a week or more depending on how other jobs were going, how many workers he could free up to do this job and weather conditions.
Darragh and two co-workers arrived promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Monday as agreed. They arrived on time each morning, worked full days on each of the jobs and managed to complete all tasks in less than a week. My wife and I were quite pleased with the quality of the work, the professionalism Darragh and his team exhibited, his courtesy and friendliness. They are skilled craftsmen who take pride in their work. Our walls and ceilings look like new. They took good care in protecting appliances, counters and cabinets and cleaned up well each day. I'm sure I could have found a painter who would have charged less to to the work, but I was looking for a responsible, skilled painter who would fulfill the contract professionally, and that's exactly what I got from Kinane Painting LLC.
Darragh was not very familiar with Angie's List, and I told him I would like to write up a report on his work. I have benefitted from recommendations posted here and wanted to recommend Darragh for people in the NYC area who are looking for a quality painter.
